These tie-downs bolt straight to your truck’s frame using pre-existing holes, so there’s little to no drilling and no cutting or modification required. The custom-fit design keeps everything tight to the frame with minimal loss of ground clearance, which means you won’t be dragging low hardware when driving off-road or on uneven ground.
By mounting directly to the frame, these tie-downs keep your camper’s center of gravity low and distribute the weight evenly across the bed. That prevents sway and top-heavy handling so your truck drives just like it does without a camper. Whether you’re heading down the highway or exploring backroads, your camper stays put for a safer, more comfortable ride.
The arms are made from rustproof aluminum and the receiver brackets from stainless steel, then finished with a high-impact powder coat for extra protection. This combination stands up to road salt, rain, and rough use without corrosion or weakening over time. It’s a setup built to last through years of travel and weather.
When you remove the tie-down arms, the frame brackets stay tucked nearly flush under the vehicle, barely visible from the side. You keep a clean look without bulky hardware hanging below. It’s a simple way to keep your truck looking good even when your camper’s not loaded.

Each arm extends out from the truck body to clear fenders or sidewalls, with two anchor holes that let you choose the best reach for your turnbuckles. This flexibility helps line up your camper anchors just right so tension is even and secure from multiple angles.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at these TorkLift Talon Custom Frame-Mounted Aluminum Read Camper Tie-Downs. Now these tie downs are going to provide attachment points at the rear of your truck bed for securing a bed-mounted camper. As I mentioned, these are custom fitted parts so these are going to fit your 2005 to 2010 Ford F250 and F350 Super Duty with the 6 3/4 or eight-foot beds without board or step underneath your truck bed and with a factory installed hitch. And then your 2008 to 2010 Ford F450 Super Duty with the eight-foot bed without board or step underneath your truck bed and with a factory installed hitch. To confirm that these tie downs are gonna work for you, take advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com.
Insert the year, make and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will let you know if these will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Also, if you are looking for front camper tie-downs, use our fit guide to find the front tie-downs that will work for your vehicle. So, the frame mounted design is going to ensure excellent handling because securing your camper to your truck's base instead of its bed is going to better distribute weight to keep your setup from being too top heavy. These brackets are going to fit tight to your truck frame so there's not gonna be any loss of ground clearance. And these rustproof, lightweight aluminum alloy tie-down inserts are going to secure to these durable stainless steel receiver brackets.
Now these inserts can be easily removed from the frame-mounted brackets with the included bale pins making the tie-downs virtually undetectable when you have them removed. So, I went ahead and removed the bale pin from this bracket here. So as you can see, that insert is going to slide right out. And I'm just going to set this aside here real quick to show you that these also include these caps here that you can use to put over the bracket just to keep dirt and grime out of that bracket. And also really gives it a nice, clean look as well.
So these vinyl caps are included along with these foam plugs that you see right here. And these are going to insert into the rear of the brackets, again to keep out dirt and grime and junk from those brackets to keep them nice and clean, so your inserts can slide easily inside of them. Now, going back to these inserts, again, these are aluminum, so they're gonna be very lightweight and you're not going to be struggling with these whether you're removing them or replacing them. And you can store these easily like in the the rear of the cab of your truck. And if you notice here we do have two different holes that the bale pin will go through.
So, if your camper is a little bit wider, you're going to use this first hole here on the insert to have the tie-down point stick out a little bit farther. And then, if your camper is a little bit narrower, you're going to move it into that second hole. So, I'm gonna go ahead and just move that into the second hole. So, this will fit on the table like I had it before and replace my bale pin and it's gonna be as simple as that. Now, these bale pins are gonna be very easy to use and it's going to secure these inserts in place for your turn buckles. And these also feature a high impact powder coat finish that's going to give you an extra layer of protection, especially to the brackets. And so, you're going to get what you see here on the table before me. You're going to get two rear tie-down inserts. Again, they're aluminum, the stainless steel frame brackets, the necessary hardware, the instructions to walk you through the installation process, and also the finishing kit that we talked about. And so, everything that you need here to successfully install these to your Ford truck. And as I mentioned, the front tie downs are sold separately. So if you we're in need of those as well, take advantage of our vehicle fit guide. These aren't made here in the USA. These do have a lifetime warranty. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

It definitely is safe the way you have them, Paul! In a perfect world, the turn buckles would be perfect vertical, but this an imperfect world and not all campers have the attachment points in the same place. If you take a look at some of the installed pictures on the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK page, you can see most of them are at an angle. It's perfectly normal. Are you running any suspension enhancement on your Silverado?

Install looks great, Megan! Especially for it only taking two hours! They were moving. : ) Happy we confirmed what you found as well. Tie downs can be a pain in the rear with all the options out there. Now I do have to ask though, have you guys thought about any kind of suspension enhancement for the rear axle? It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like the back is sagging a bit in your last picture.

A year later and I would not do anything different. Absolutely the best system available especially paired with the fast guns. The camper is solid mounted and does not move. Yet can still be off loaded in just a few minutes. Remember good stuff isn’t cheap and cheap stuff isn’t good.
