Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at a Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount Ball Shank with these stacked receivers for a three inch by three inch hitch receiver with a max of nine inch drop, rated at 32,000 pounds. So, folks, this nice, adjustable ball mount's gonna let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The three inch by three inch shank will slide into your three inch shank on your towed vehicle. And you've got two different pin options here. You've got 5/8 or 3/4 inch.

The pin and clip for both of those holes, whichever one you need is sold separately. I highly recommend you picking up a lockable one here to etrailer.com to protect your investment. You've got five stacked receivers here, and those are all the 2 1/2 by 2 1/2, the square size. So, you can not only use this 2 5/16 or two inch and the pintle latch here for the lunette ring, but you could also take these out, potentially put in your own ball or your own attachment accessory, whatever, and use that as well. They give you two pin and clips as well to hold each of those in place.

Now, this is what they call a shock-absorbent design, and it acts much like a torsion axle. I've got a cutaway here for demo I wanna show you. So, inside of here, you've got four rubber braided cords and they're gonna be around that steel square insert, and when you're towing and you hit bumps and stuff, that's gonna act like a nice suspension dampener, and it's gonna transfer that road shock. So, you're not gonna feel any of that stuff, and that's how it's working. You get a grease circuit up here on top.

Make sure you grease that probably once a year. Just follow the maintenance schedule that's in the instructions that come with the product. Now, another nice feature is that it's adjustable heights, so that means you can tow different trailer heights with the same vehicle, by just simply moving the ball up or down as needed. As you can see, it's got a nice, elegant hammered e-coat, or I'm sorry, epoxy powder coat finish on it. It's a black and gray mix.

It does have a zinc primer underneath all that to help keep rust and corrosion. Highly, highly resistant. It is SAE J684-certified. It's been made right here in the US. Now, they're gonna give you a five-year warranty on all the torsion suspension parts here, and then a limited lifetime on everything else. Now, dimensions. As far as an overall height, I was getting 15 3/16 inches tall. And then for some measurements on the length, I'm gonna be using the center of the 5/8 inch hole going this way. So, if I take that and I go to the edge over here, I was getting, before I was shooting here, I was getting 12 7/8 inches, and if I measured center of the hole all the way to the outside up here, I got 17 1/4 inches. (tape measure clacks) Now, it has a gross towing weight max out of 32,000 pounds when you're using that 25/16 ball, and the optimal tongue ride weight you want is between 2,000 to 3,500 pounds of tongue weight. Once again, it has a maximum of a nine inch drop. And folks, again, this is the Gen-Y Torsion Ball Mount with a three inch by three inch receiver hitch size. Purchased the GH-1825 model for my 2022 F350.

My first impression, "This thing is a beast"!

The quality surpassed my expectations with off the chart marks. The quality is important to me because this purchase was an upgrade. I didn't want to waste my hard earned money. I did my research and landed with the GH-1825 model after weeks of internet video reviews and various websites. I also didn't want to have regrets and buy the other models and "wish" I would have gone bigger.

My plan is to use this Boss hitch to pull whatever I want and need; it's certainly well capable.

My old hitch was very limited in its capabilities, I certainly don't have that issue now.

I won't repeat what's already been stated. Indeed, the last hitch you will purchase! It's a heavy beast - shipping weight was 138 pounds!

My load towing with this is actually a bit under-rated for the sweet-spot of this hitch, but I did not want to use a reducer on my 2019 F-450 to operate the lower-rated Gen-Y. It has definitely made a positive difference on rough terrain (especially off-road). In my case it is mainly to prevent the truck from roughing up the trailer with it's super-stiff nature. Of course this functions in either/any fashion.

This will absolutely cover anything you could ever possibly tow with a conventional style trailer. Anything heavier and you'd be looking at gooseneck (which they also make a torsion hitch for - which I am also strongly considering).

Not any fault of the hitch, but it will set off your reverse proximity sensors. No way around that with a hitch of this size.

I would suggest that it be mentioned that use of this hitch is probably going to require most users to extend their safety chains a good bit. I had 24inch chains with a standard hitch and they fit fine, but this Gen-Y required me to use 38inch chains minimum to not only make it to the receiver chain openings, but to also make it around the hitch itself!

Just thought that it might be helpful to others to know that. Luckily I had some longer Grade 70 chains already!

Overall, no complaints what so ever. I know what if someone happens to rear-end my truck they are going to get an engine block full of Gen-Y (sort of passive perk I say).

Love the height adjustment for all 3 of my trailers suuper solid, I get compliments all the time when people see it "wow that things stout!" Keeps the trailer tongue from excessive bobbing, the pins it came with are a huge improvement from the standard Bobby pin style I was used to. Over all I do not regret a dollar spent and would highly recommend to anyone looking for an initial purchase or upgrade their tow life

This hitch is amazing!!! Be prepared though it is very heavy! I love how easy it is to adjust to different heights and ball sizes with the 2 common sizes provided. The scale on the back can be helpful to let you know if you have the proper trailer weight. The more you use it the more you will like it!

It was well packaged shipping was great received it within a week installation was easy weighing only 73 pounds. It does affect the center back up sensors on a 2022 , 3500 long bed ram pick up.

It is a strong hitch. If you leave it in your receiver plan on it rusting even with the coating that it has on it. The coating on the ball with most cases need to be scraped off before your hitch will even fit over it so that will rust right away as they normally do. Was hoping the rest of it would look a little better after one year.

Bought this hitch a year ago for my new car hauler trailer. I used a standard hard hitch for a few months before deciding to bite the bullet and purchase this hitch. This completely eliminated the hard bumping the trailer would give the truck on some of the rough roads in Missouri

This is one of the greatest products ever made! I cannot feel the trailer bouncing up and down every time I hit a bump on the highway while trailering my boat. Yes the hitch is heavy but that is also the reason why it works so well. My only suggestion would be that with the 10K pound hitch there needs to be a 2.5 inch receiver not a 2 since all 2500 trucks now are using the 2.5 receiver.

Having the built in tongue weight indicator is a true benefit. The torsion movement of the receiver absorbs harsh hi-way road conditions.
I had no problems pulling 10,000 plus miles, with trailers weighting #8,000 to #1000. Would highly recommend this receiver.

I bought the hitch because I frequently tow my 24 foot toyhauler down some pretty rough stretches of interstate highway. Its the kind of highway that when a trailer is attached to your truck, it drives the tow vehicle up and down like a fast yo-yo. I think the hitch helps a little but not nearly as much as I had hoped.

Best improvement I've made on this toterhome pulling 20K trailer. because of the way this 13'4" tall trailer used to porpoise hard on bad roads, loud banging shock loads on the hitch, I constantly feared structural failure. Now I don't hear or feel the trailer at all!!. Smooth.
