  The Redline Universal Roller Brackets # MBSPB will measure 6-3/4" from the center of the 5/8" roller mounting hole to the bottom of the oblong frame mounting hole.   Normally, you will see keel rollers near the back of a boat trailer to help guide it on. But it is possible to place a roller else where on the trailer. You would have to be careful not to place all of the boats weight on one roller as this could damage the boat and trailer. If a roller would cause the boat to ride too high, you may want to re-think where the roller can be positioned. You may be able to back the trailer up further to limit how much side to side travel the boat can do....

  I went out to the warehouse and pulled the Universal Roller Brackets, # MBSPB, to take some measurements for you. From the center of the hole to the nearest edge of the flat mounting surface measures 2-11/16 inches. The bracket is 1/8 inches thick so from the hole to the top of the bracket is 2-13/16 inches. The overall length of the bracket is 7-1/2 inches. The mounting surface is 6-1/8 inches long. I have made some pictures that show these measurements for you.

• Roller Bunk Recommendation for a Boat Trailer with Carpeted Bunks
  You can add rollers to your boat trailer which will make it slide in and out much easier and more so than carpeted bunks for sure. You can use roller bunks # DL21741 and attach them directly to the bunks you have now. Be sure to get rollers for all the bunks the boat touches. I would use the Universal Roller Brackets, # MBSPB, that you mentioned along with a 8 inch Long Keel Roller, # DL21712, a 5/8 inch Steel Shaft, and two pal nuts # CE10801. All of this is dependent on your trailer having and 8 inch area that the brackets can be installed in and adjusted for the roller to contact the keel of the boat.   The Dutton-Lainson Roller you referenced, part # DL21712 would work fine for you, but the Redline Bow Roller, part # 404800 would probably be a better fit. You would also need the mounting brackets, part # MBSPB and a shaft part # CE10727A.

  Generally speaking, it is not recommended to bore out the holes on the roller brackets # CE10211G because doing so could weaken the brackets. Adjustable mounting bracket # CE32004G would be a much better option. We also have # MBSPB as a possible option.
