Video Transcript for Redline Boat Trailer Parts - Roller and Bunk Parts - MBSPB Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers. These split panel brackets mount upright to a trailer's crossmember. They support a keel roller, or a spool roller, to help keep the boat moving while it's being loaded and to stabilize the keel. You do get both the right and left hand brackets that support a roller on your boat trailer. They'll fit any length roller that has a 5/8 inch diameter shaft. Really nice sturdy galvanized steel construction that's going to do a great job at resisting rust, and corrosion, and lasting a long time.

The units are going to feature the slotted mounting holes that allow you to adjust the position during installation. Again, it's going to fit a variety of lengths of rollers. It'll fit a 4 inch, 5 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, 12 inch, and 18 inch long rollers. Just keep in mind that it's going to require a 5/8 inch diameter roller shaft. When it comes to the dimensions of the mounting slots, those are going to measure a half inch wide x 5 inches long. This area right here measures pretty close to 6 inches, maybe 6 1/8 x about 1 7/8 to 2 inches, going in that direction.

That's going to do it for today's look at the Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers.

DALE B - 06/01/2016

I have used these type brackets before, so I know what to expect. Do appreciate the speedy processing and delivery. Still waiting on some items from big box stores. Kudo's to etrailer.

Website easy to navigate, just got the product and haven't installed or tried it out yet. Shipped & received in a timely manner.

These worked out perfectly

Exactly what I needed to mount my rollers to the cross beam of my trailer. Perfect and quick delivery from etrailer. Good galvanized coating and solid heavy duty brackets which are well gusseted for strength.

Good timely service. The product was as advertised.

None of the merchandise was that extremely thin bargain-basement junk. I was extremely surprised that the high quality products sent and how fast they arrived.

Exactly as Advertised, and the best deal by far than i could get any where else. Highly recommend etrailer. Thanks

Great quality product will last for years. Quick shipping. Easy to install. Amazing customer service.

I couldn't believe how quick the order came. Excellent condition and great quality parts. Thanks you etrailer.

Worked as advertised and functioned well for my application.

They did not have the qty of brackets I needed so they were able to drop ship from the manufacture. The follow up was excellent, great job on the timely execution of the order.

Shipped immediately and worked perfectl y!

The quality looks like what was expected, and will do a great job for a upgrade to my boat frame.

Great idea

  • Can Bow Rollers Installed on Ranger Trail Boat Trailer Handle Weight or Only Guide Boat Loading
Thank you for providing the photo of your boat and trailer and the bow guide rollers you have just installed. Without knowing the particular item you purchased or its rated capacity I cannot give you any 100-percent assurances. I can advise that typically the rollers found at the bow end of a trailer are there for guiding the craft to its correct position on the trailer and not for bearing much of its weight. Typical power boats will have a much lighter bow than stern (due to the engine's...

  • Set of Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers
For a pair of the brackets use part # MBSPB. As long as everything fits on your trailer there isn't any reason they can't be installed either way.

  • Dimensions of the Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers # MBSPB
I went out to the warehouse and pulled the Universal Roller Brackets, # MBSPB, to take some measurements for you. From the center of the hole to the nearest edge of the flat mounting surface measures 2-11/16 inches. The bracket is 1/8 inches thick so from the hole to the top of the bracket is 2-13/16 inches. The overall length of the bracket is 7-1/2 inches. The mounting surface is 6-1/8 inches long. I have made some pictures that show these measurements for you.

  • Can a Keel Roller for a Boat Trailer be placed on the Middle of a Boat Trailer
Normally, you will see keel rollers near the back of a boat trailer to help guide it on. But it is possible to place a roller else where on the trailer. You would have to be careful not to place all of the boats weight on one roller as this could damage the boat and trailer. If a roller would cause the boat to ride too high, you may want to re-think where the roller can be positioned. You may be able to back the trailer up further to limit how much side to side travel the boat can do....

  • What Diameter U-Bolts Are Needed for the Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers
The Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers part # MBSPB will accept any u-bolt 7-1/6" in diameter or smaller. I would not advise using 1/2" as they are too large and not needed.

  • Need A Couple Measurements Of The Universal Roller Brackets for Boat Trailers MBSPB
The Redline Universal Roller Brackets # MBSPB will measure 6-3/4" from the center of the 5/8" roller mounting hole to the bottom of the oblong frame mounting hole. I included a diagram of this as well. There are also a couple other diagrams included, just in case you needed a few more measurements.

  • Roller Bunk Recommendation for a Boat Trailer with Carpeted Bunks
You can add rollers to your boat trailer which will make it slide in and out much easier and more so than carpeted bunks for sure. You can use roller bunks # DL21741 and attach them directly to the bunks you have now. Be sure to get rollers for all the bunks the boat touches. These rollers have a capacity of 3,000 pounds and are 5 feet long. I have included a link to a video review of them for you.

  • How to Install Boat Keel Rollers When Replacing V Bunks on Trailer
It looks like you are on the right track. I would use the Universal Roller Brackets, # MBSPB, that you mentioned along with a 8 inch Long Keel Roller, # DL21712, a 5/8 inch Steel Shaft, and two pal nuts # CE10801. All of this is dependent on your trailer having and 8 inch area that the brackets can be installed in and adjusted for the roller to contact the keel of the boat. If you would like to send photos of the boat trailer, I would be glad to make a more specific recommendation.

  • Can Hole be Enlarged on CE Smith Boat Trailer Roller Brackets for a 5/8 Inch Diameter Shaft
Generally speaking, it is not recommended to bore out the holes on the roller brackets # CE10211G because doing so could weaken the brackets. Adjustable mounting bracket # CE32004G would be a much better option. We also have # MBSPB as a possible option.

  • Bow Roller for 14 Foot Row Boat Trailer
The Dutton-Lainson Roller you referenced, part # DL21712 would work fine for you, but the Redline Bow Roller, part # 404800 would probably be a better fit. You would also need the mounting brackets, part # MBSPB and a shaft part # CE10727A.

  • Recommend Keel Roller Setup For 14 Foot Aluminum Boat
I would recommend using the Universal Roller Brackets, # MBSPB, this will mount near the front of the trailer. Then you can use the 8 Inch Keel Roller, # DL21712, and a 5/8 inch Steel Shaft like part # CE10727A that includes two pal nuts You will need to measure your trailer to see if you have space to mount the brackets. You will need an 8 inch area that the brackets can be installed in and adjusted for the roller to contact the keel of the boat.

  • Parts Needed To Add Keel Roller to Boat Trailer with V-Pad
The Yates Keel Roller for Boat Trailers part # YR1200B is just what you are looking for. It's blue in color and has the roller design you are looking to add which will assist in centering the boat on the trailer. In order to install this you will need the Roller Shaft with Pal Nuts part # CE10727A and CE Smith Universal-Fit Split Panel Brackets part # CE10500G. The u-bolts you have now can be reused.

  • Rubber Keel Roller Shaft for 3-3/4 Inch Spool-Type Roller and Mounting Bracket
The 3-3/4" Rubber Keel Spool-Type Roller for Boat Trailers # 804 can use the Roller Shaft with Pal Nuts for Boat Trailer Rollers - Zinc-Plated Steel - 5-1/4" x 5/8" # CE10721A. We do not have a shorter roller shaft length, so if you have a mounting bracket requiring a shorter length you would need to trim it and then paint the trimmed edge to prevent corrosion prior to installing the pal nut. Most often this roller is paired with that shaft as well as the CE Smith Panel Bracket for 4"...

  • Recommended Solution to Keep Nose of Boat From Dipping When Loading on Trailer Using a Drotto System
It sounds like you most likely could just add some of the CE Smith Keel Roller Assembly for 3" Wide Trailer Tongue # CE32003G or # CE32005G for 2" tongue, in front of your Drotto System to help keep the nose of the boat up when loading it under these conditions. You could also potentially fabricate something using the Yates Y-Style Bow Stop # YR7Y44-4 on some sort of welded on posts to provide you with a way to keep the nose of the boat from dipping too low. • Recommended Roller Bunk Assembly for 3 Wide Trailer Frame
Yes, the mounting holes on a roller bunk assembly bracket would need to be spaced apart farther than 3" in order to fit a 3" wide frame. Instead of using the CE Smith Spool Roller Assembly part # CE10451G, I recommend using a combination of the brackets part # MBSPB, roller part # YR510Y-5, shaft/nuts part # CE10722A, and u-bolts part # CE15252A. Roller assemblies can be installed on trailers in a variety of different ways but in order to attach them directly atop a 3" wide frame rail like...
