Today were working with the 2012 Toyota Highlander and were going to be test fitting the Draw-Tite ball mount, part number 2923. First, we want to take a hitch height measurement. Thats from the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube. On this particular vehicle its 14-3/4 inches. Keep in mind this measurement may vary depending on the model of the vehicle, hitch height, or tire size so make sure to measure your particular vehicle when shopping for a ball mount. First, well mount this ball mount in the drop position.

Now, this ball mount provides a 2-3/4 inch rise or a 4 inch drop. First, well measure the hitch height of our Highlander, thats from the ground to the inside top edge of our receiver tube. Our example measures 14-3/4 inches tall. Now, keep in mind this measurement will vary depending on the different models, tire sizes, or hitches available for these vehicles. With a 14-3/4 inch hitch height, we probably wont want to use this ball mount in the drop position as it would set us down about 10 inches from the ground.
