Best Ford Expedition Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer.

Picked up my teardrop in ABQ on 2/17/23, and the Curt ball mount lined up perfectly with no drop/rise, and the extra length gave clearance for my rear door mounted spare tire. This mount is a beast, and the "overbuilt" nature of it gave me confidence that my Bronco would tow the teardrop easily. I also got the Curt Echo wireless brake controller, which synced easily to my phone and was easy to install, set up, and use. Overall a great towing experience, thanks to etrailer and Curt!

The product is good but a bit tideous and after installing it my bracket fell and it was a pain to get replace it support made me buy the replacement pieces and the bracket didnt come with just the bolts, and at the end they told i have i had to buy the whole unit because based on their system my truck didnt have issues with installement and the manufacturer didnt supply that bracket cause it special order so in general i dont recommend in my choice better to get it welded.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

I've used the hitch over the last year on several trailers and loads. The adjustability made towing a much better feel and ride over a fixed hitch that at times not the greatest. I see no wear, very easy to adjust even once coupled to the trailer and finding the trailer needs to be leveled better.

This is a beast of a drawbar, solid forged steel & well finished. It's also very heavy and E-Trailer needed to ship 3 times because the first two broke out of the box they were packed in. (Someone in the USPS has a couple nice draw bars.) Fortunately the 3rd effort was much better packed in a reinforced box and was successfully delivered. E-Trailer customer service was exemplary in resolving the shipment issue & I will definitely shop with them again.

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. I purchased Curt's 6" drop ball mount for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport which is not lifted but has 32" tall tires. The utility trailer I plan to purchase recommends a 12" tongue/ball height for level towing. The Curt 6" drop ball mount places my tongue/ball height at 13.5" which is acceptable. The bottom of my tow ball mounting nut is now 12" above the road surface. Plenty of clearance for safe towing. I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of my Curt ball mount. I'm looking forward to purchasing a utility trailer soon. I think it will tow very nicely using my Curt 6" drop ball hitch.

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

This has been an amazing multipurpose ball mount. We purchased this to use with our Hollywood Bike Rack and also to connect onto our boat. We weren't sure if this would work, but it was awesome. It is very well built and We had to make some minor adjustments to the position of our boat on the trailer so the turning radius of the bike rack that was attached would clear the truck. This is very well made and solid.

Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. Huge improvement on all accounts for us compared to our prior setup. The product is well built and I'm confident will provide us years of good use.

Your packaging it's lousy, package arrived with a receiver size hole in the end of box . Guess what the box was empty . This is the second time I have had problems with your company !

Great solid forged Ball mount!

Purchased this hitch as a companion for our Reese anti sway control. The small ball for the Reese sway control fits in the bracket and the 2” drop on the hitch is exactly what we needed to have our Jayco camper level when towing.

I cannot use this ball mount because the shaft is too short that goes into hitch receiver on my one ton Dodge truck. It does not allow enough room between truck back bumper and ball to allow any trailer tongue to be put on ball.

Sooooo....you sent me a product that was somehow put together backwards and I cannot take them apart somehow the ballhitch is stuck on the male portion backwards and defies gravity and doesn’t need a pin to stay on(becaue thier is no where to put the pin in cause it’s backwards

Have done about 5k with this hitch, just once with a 4500lb camper but mostly with a 3000lb cargo trailer. The former in a highly raised position and the latter in the absolute bottom position. The hitch has worn very well and shows no signs of excess wear, save for the surface of the 2" ball, but it's not concerning. On a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a stock suspension, this seems to give the right balance of range of adjustment without dropping so low in the lower configuration as to scrape through dips, though it can still be done on very sharp dips with the hitch on the lowest setting. Overall, very pleased with it and love that it's lighter than steel and won't rust.

It was well packaged shipping was great received it within a week installation was easy weighing only 73 pounds. It does affect the center back up sensors on a 2022 , 3500 long bed ram pick up.

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

Just your basic ball mount, the product is just like most 2” Hitch ball mounts, the service wasn’t very good though. Ordered on June 15th (product was in stock) took them 6 days to send it out, took another 6 days in shipping and got all the way to my post office two days before leaving on vacation (I needed it for the vacation) and the post office said “box was empty and they notified seller” etrailer sent a new one (got here a week after my vacation) in a damaged box (packaging is horrible, little bit of paper in a box with a 5 lbs ball mount) almost lost this one too. I don’t believe I’ll be using etrailer in the future (had issues before)

My usage of your hitch is a bit unusual, I think. I pull a two ton roller with my Ram and I've used your cushioned hitch to smooth out the process. The roller Lunette just dropped over a 2" ball and then banged and jerked on the ball neck. Check out the photos for my adaptation.. I can flip it over and use the 2" ball! Have enclosed some photos. The cushion is holding up very well and it takes a beating!! Thanks

Makes for a great hard-core dirt road set up with a 3000 pound trailer, in conjunction with the Curt rocker ball, Towing with an F150 over many miles of washboards, down through washes where the road was washed out, etc. Really makes for a gentler set up on the equipment in the trailer and the truck. This still looks good with no slop easy to switch between the different ball.

VERY HAPPY, BUT STARTED TO SEE SOME RUST ON THE HITCH BALL AND ONLY USED TWO TIMES. THE VERSABILITY OF THE PRODUCT IS GREAT. OTHER THAN THE SMALL AMOUNT OF RUST ON THE BALL ITSELF, IM VERY SATISFY AND WILL BUY FOR MY OTHER TRUCKS.

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

This is a must have for full-time trailer hauling. No ball grease needed. Easy to adjust for a level trailer, smooth towing. I increased my trailer tires to light duty truck tires (a little taller tire), for heaver loads & ease of mind to haul at 75 mph speed. This hitch allow me to fine tune the trailer ball height for best setup on my heavy duty Toyota Tundra truck.

Love these. This is my third one. Wouldnt pull a trailer with anything else. Trannys are expensive.

Bought to pull my boat with my Yukon and needed a drop hitch to level out the trailer. I wanted to buy a quality hitch, and let me tell you the B&W does not disappoint. Well engineered. It’s it heavy but when installed it is pretty easy to adjust height and ball size. Also supporting an American company is a plus!
