We love this bike rack for its ease of use and solid construction. Bikes are quick and easy to load in and lock down tight. The hitch-receiver tightening system works great for a wobble-free rack and the hinge and locking lever work smooth and solid. It looks nice too.

So after much research into bike racks, I decided on pulling the plug on the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. I've looked into the Kuat NV and other brands, but they were just too much for my needs. If you've got "regular" bikes and not the heavier eBikes, then this rack is perfect. I wanted a hitch rack that was user friendly and not overly complicated. I have a mixed bag of bikes and this rack can handle them all, from mountain bikes, street bikes, and BMX bikes. I like that this rack comes with an adapter piece for 20"-24" wheels. Assembly of the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 is really a no-brainer. I think it's only 4-5 bolts really. Everything else is ready to go. The anti-rattle hitch ball mechanism is simple to use with just a twist of the dial, easy. The tilt pedal/lever is also easy to access should you need to open your hatch, a solid "click" assures it's in place. So far, loving this rack. Fit and finish is superb. Decent 4-bike rack for the price. Stable side-to-side with the screw-in hitch pin (2 inch receiver version). Gets some fore-aft rocking over bumps at speed (inherent to the tilting design). Bikes need bungee cords to keep them from swinging (typical for this style of rack). I used this with two bikes, and really struggle to see how four full-size bikes could be added. Maybe if seats were removed? I added bumpers and some padding for the vertical post, and will probably relocate the retainer pin lanyard so the rack can be completely collapsed for storage. A few design improvements for 5 star rating would be: 1 - Add some bumpers for the fully lowered position, 2 -Add some padding on the vertical post for bike contact or accidental vehicle hatch lifting when in the raised position, 3 - Mount the retainer pin lanyard to one of the through-bolts or move the lanyard hole - collapsing this rack chews up the retaining lanyard. etrailer.com service was great - well packaged, and quickly shipped!

Excellent service and fast shipping by etrailer. Bike rack itself was easy to put together and install. It came in with a few scratches. It works well with large bikes. Slight problems started with the smaller bikes. The rack's arms are wide enough to accommodate the bikes, but the slides are not designed for smaller frames. If you have smaller bikes you might have to purchase the bike frame adapter bar for each bike. It's not a huge problem for us since the kids are growing up fast and soon they will have to graduate to the large frame bikes. In the mean time I will have to use extra straps to hold them together.

Excellent bike rack. Easy to put together. Fits perfect with the etrailer curt hitch. This is a heavy duty bike rack, which also means it heavy but still manageable. Using this for my Aventon Ebike.

This rack is heavy, easy to assemble and has zero wobble. The reason I purchased this rack was due to the quality of the rack, but also my last experience with trailer. Great customer service, and if you have a question, it's pretty easy to get hold of a real person! I actually purchased this for an Ebike.

Great sturdy rack, and the wheels are very beneficial. Have never been a fan of the Thule locks, but the rack makes up for it.

Super easy to load 4 bikes and go. Takes me 5 minutes to get all 4 on the rack, compared to 15-20 with the rack I had before. I would change nothing honestly. It's a fantastic rack. It has performed great. I can now quickly load 2 kids bikes and 2 adult bikes on the rack with no special adapters. We can hit trails faster and spend more time riding. There is no real downside. It's also significantly cheaper than competitors and provides a much easier and smooth experience. Is it a great rack for small families who want to ride together. No adapters needed for different sized bikes and super easy to load and unload. I would not recommend this particular model if you don't plan on using more than 2 slots. But for 3 or 4 it rules.

One year in and it is great. I have a 2021 Subaru accent and it is perfect. We carry 4 adult bikes and while it is a tight fit it works great. The rack is VERY solid and does not move when tightened up. Over the past year we have used it 3-4 times with no issues so far. It is easy to use and one person can easily load and unload the bikes. The tilt up feature is nice and when the rack is down and there are no bikes we can open the back hatch without an issue and there is plenty of clearance. We have been very happy with the performance and the price.

This is a well designed rack. Adding and removing bikes is quick & easy. Just set the bike on & slide the padded hook down onto the bike frame to secure it; no straps required. If only one bike is transported, it does not interfere with opening the trunk on our Tesla Model 3. With 2 bicycles the trunk cannot be opened. For 2 bikes the Swagman model that can tilt might be worth the extra 22 bucks. This rack uses a bolt in the receiver hitch instead of a pin. This locks it securely preventing it from moving in the hitch & rattling. It also requires a wrench to remove it, good for theft prevention but one more thing to keep track of. For storage on the vehicle the top bar folds down. For storage in the garage, the left & right bars fold up & you can hang it using one of the hooks.

So far so good. The rack wiggles a bit, but that is expected. I have it on my 2007 Corolla and I have hit 65+ on the highway with it and have not had a problem. I would recommend getting a locking pin. The one included is threaded, which aside from security, makes it harder to take the rack on and off. I would also look into a DIY way to secure the wheels better. I am using some bungee straps which do the job no problem. The two bikes I carry are at the racks capacity.

I am very pleased with this hitch! Fit my bikes very nicely. Easy to assemble. Rack looks great on my Mazda cx-30. Customer service is very responsive.

A very good, inexpensive, lightweight bike rack. Folds nicely and doesn't interfere with the hatch opening on our 2023 XC40. I wouldn't consider this a heavy duty rack, more suitable for short trips to the riding trails. Good for urban living, as opposed to 4 wheeling out to a mountain destination. Several plastic components. Two things I dislike is 1) the hitch pin lock is cheesy plastic, and because of the threading bolt on the rack's hitch, you can't use a sturdier 5/8" locking pin. and 2) the cotter pins should have a small security cable.

After reviewing and researching the other manufacturers of a 2 bike rack, we decided on the Sherpa 2.0. It was easy enough to assemble, just follow the directions. We used it for the first time this morning on the back of my Outback and we were both pleased at how stable it was. Easy to mount our bikes and dismount. We plan to use it on our Mustang and my hubs '68 F100 as well. So far, very pleased with the performance and appearance. We purchased the black one for a 2' receiver.

This rack is great. The adjustable tilt feature is convenient. The price point is solid for the quality. The 4 star rating is simply because some of the plastic melted due to exhaust heat when the rack was in the bikeless up position. Küat warranty and customer service was great. They are replacing the hook. If you're thinking of this for a 2021 Forester, definitely get the Hi-lo adapter so that the hook doesn't sit in line with the exhaust.

Fantastic bike rack. Switch it between a Honda Ridgeline and a Subaru Outback Wilderness and it works perfectly. Accidentally lost the locking pin that secures the rack to the trailer hitch and when I inquired with Kurt about ordering a replacement lock keyed to match the locking cables on the rack and the Kuat rep sent one to me for free. (I removed the rack and left the lock sitting on my car bumper. Later that day I drove off and lost the lock on the highway).

Great bike rack. It is easy to install the hitch on a vehicle and to remove it. The Kuat NV 2.0 provides a smooth, gentle ride for road bikes and mountain bikes. Great purchase. Highly recommend.

Works for my fat tire bike. Once it's set up, it's easy to install and remove. I had to cut out some of the plastic cladding on the underside of my bumper on my 2014 Subaru Outback. Good value. I've had no issues.

GI love the Rack, it is easy for me to handle, (as a 89 yearold rider.), two bikes ride and fit very nicely. Like how it folds down,and how it folds to open the tailgate . Great quality for the money, I would highly recommend this rack

This is a really good rack. We do a lot of car camping out of our Subaru Outback and I wanted a bike rack that would swing aside so we can raise the hatchback and easily access the camping gear, cooler, duffel bags, etc that we carry in back (see photo). This rack 100% solves that problem. Further, the bike hold-downs are very secure. I use them on their own for shorter trips. For a longer trip or one that may involve a rough road, I supplement them with a ratchet strap, but this is probably just unnecessary paranoia--the hold-downs are excellent. My one heads-up about this rack is that it is heavy. I am a large, strong man and can attach it myself, but I do not look forward to the chore. This is a beefy rack and the weight is unavoidable. I welcome how sturdily-built the rack is. We typically carry my normal bike and my wife's heavy e-bike on it, and the rack is totally up to the job. Highly recommended. I have zero regrets about the purchase and the investment in this rack that will serve us for many years to come. The design is pretty much perfect--I can't think of one thing I would change.

Love this rack and use it every day on my Toyota Tundra pickup. I ride my cruiser on the beach and loading/unloading bike/s is really easy. I travel to riding locations as well and even at highway speeds, two bikes remain secure and wobble-free. My bikes are expensive and the stand-up mode of securing them means no worn paint or scratches. If any complaint it's not made for the salty air here in FL and certain parts corrode...even with daily rinsing off. The rack is perfect for the fat and oversized wheels on bikes I've owned...even heavier ebikes...WILL BUY IT AGAIN.

Arrived very quickly and in good condition. Working with etrailer was great - they are on the ball, unlike some other retailers. The product was as expected, although I took off a point for really poor instructions. If Kuat had just taken a little bit of time to provide more details, it would make the job so much quicker. I haven't yet tested the rack with bikes, but is installed and all the bits seem to work as promised. One point thatI don't like is that the locking pin that attaches the unit to the hitch is really long and doesn't have anything that would keep if from rattling. I put in my own rubber spacer to hopefully eliminate any rattles, but it seems like adding a couple rubber washers to the kit to help prevent rattles would be an easy and inexpensive solution.

No buyer’s remorse here! After quite a bit of reading and comparing, I have no regrets about purchasing the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. Excellent product, great quality. I would purchase all over again. It is a solid rack that is esthetically impressive to boot.

Really impressed by the quality. Some minor assembly required but the factory has made assembly very easy. The rack is very sturdy & the hitch tightening assembly works really well. The rack positioning also works flawlessly and is solid. Yes it is an expensive rack but you get what you pay for here. I installed this rack onto a Curt trailer hitch which is mounted onto a 2017 Honda Fit. I have been using it intermittently for several months, probably about 5 times with one bike and twice with two bikes. I give some pros and cons below and then elaborate. Pros: easy to assemble, easy to mount and dismount bikes, easy to lock and unlock, how to put the rack into different positions is intuitive Cons: inconvenient to put the rack into different positions, inconvenient to mount the rack onto the hitch, rack protrudes about 15 inches from bumper when in flipped up position (seems very vulnerable to someone backing into it in a parking lot, very inelegant looking I say the repositioning is intuitive because there is really only one way you could possibly place the pins for each position. But removing and replacing two pins is much less convenient than turning a knob or a lever, like some racks do. Also many racks fold and flip in such a way as to look very unobtrusive when in non-use mode. This one looks like kind of a monstrosity. That does not really bother me but it might bother some owners. The part that does bother me is how far it protrudes from the car. I back into parking spaces whenever possible to avoid someone bumping into the rack and damaging it (which happened to a friend). My number one suggestion for Curt is related to mounting the rack onto the hitch. Make it easier to tell when the holes are lined up so that the bolt/pin will fit and thread. As it is now, if you insert the rack as far as it can go it is way too far in. Ideally, it would be exactly lined up. Failing that, maybe some kind of click or other feedback to know at least that you are in the neighborhood. It would also be great to have an attaching device that is easier to fasten and unfasten than is the bolt/pin. Tip for mounting the rack onto the hitch: I assumed that it would be awkward to hold, what is it 46 pounds?, while trying to line up the rack probe with the receiver. If you have a garage with exposed collar ties, my solution could work well for you. I looped a cargo strap over a collar tie. Then I hooked both hooks of a bungie onto that loop. The idea is that you hook one of the bike frame holders of the rack onto the bungie, suspending the rack a few inches off the garage floor. This takes most of the weight of the rack so that you can just pull up or down and forward until you line up with the receiver. Tip for mounting bikes. Don't put the little screw into the post that prevents you from completely removing the bike frame holders. Remove both holders. Position the first bike, slide the holder into place, position the second bike, slide the holder into place. I found this makes it much easier, because you avoid parts of the bike hitting the holder as you are trying to get the wheels into place. The trick is that if you are mounting only one bike, don't forget to put the second holder back on - or maybe just stick it inside the car right away.

Have used mine several times in the past 2 years on the back of a ‘21 Honda Pilot and a ‘19 Ram 1500 Classic. I really like that the platform will tilt downward allowing the Pilot rear hatch to open with no interference. The tailgate on the Ram doesnt open fully even with the platform tilted downward, but that is a Ram problem & not a Curt problem. Was well worth the money.

I have had my Kuat NV 2.0 4-Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting - Metallic Black for a month now. Amazing engineering. Solid rack. I have four or five old (cheaper) racks and this is the best rack I have ever seen by far. Extremely happy with this. I will reserve comment on whether or not a bike rack should cost $xx.xx but it’s a great rack. Possible improvements: 1) The rack is just too heavy. With the amazing engineers that worked on this, knocking 10 lbs off the rack would be easy. I know it is one of the lighter ones available but it is still too heavy. The center rail is all steel and the heaviest part. The outer part of the swing arms are steel (inner part is aluminum). The arms have really nice bushings on the hinges. The whole thing is amazing, well-built, and well-engineered. IDEA 1: lightweight the center rail by using U-lube instead of square tube. Or just make holes through the top and bottom of he square rail. IDEA 2) The Aluminum platforms are amazing. But use less Al and more plastic. The ones for the back tire add significant weight. 2) Someone came up with a great idea for dealing with one aspect of the weight problem. One problem is that at 54 lbs. when you put it in the receiver it’s hard to align the hitch pin hole by yourself. So I kludged up a stop using a ring clamp and some plastic tubing. I was going to tap a hole in the center rail for a stop screw but then I could not adjust the depth for different vehicles. So I went with the ring clamp. When installing it (see photo) I noticed that someone already had a great idea and tapped a hole to add a stop. I assume there is an adjustable clip that is secured by the recessed screw. But I did not receive the clip. I just have a beautifully designed tapped hole and recessed screw with no way to use it. Probably an easy answer to this one but i didn't get a clip and didn't see this referenced in the instructions at all. 3) Back tire surface. It almost doesn’t matter where you ride the mountain bike, somewhere along the trial there is sandy, gravely surface that gets on your tires. I have gone in five ‘dirt’ trails and covered my tires with smooth mud thinking that I wasn’t going to hit sand. Then when I get back to the parking lot the mud collects the sandy gravel—either in the gravel parking lot or at the edge of the asphalt lot. Then I put the bike on the beautiful smooth aluminum carrier and scratch it. There should be an improvement to resurface the area where the back tire goes. It looks like there has been some weak attempt to provide a plastic coat but it doesn’t work. I am going to buy some rubberized truck-bed liner or spray rubberized spray rust proofer to refinish this. 4) Last possible improvement. The only people that should be buying this bike rack are people with high end mountain bikes. The reason for the platform carrier is to accommodate the odd frame geometry of mountain bikes and to protect the full suspension from dangling and getting air in the cylinders. If you have a full carbon road bike then just hang it on the back of your car with a $200 bike rack. And no one is going to carry $120 steel Walmart BLO’s with a $xx.xx platform carrier. They are going to strap them to the roof of their minivan. So you could even make this carry less weight capacity to make it lighter. And just tell people to put the 60 lb bike (like ebikes) closest to vehicle and lighter bikes in the back. EVERYONE has a lighter bike… either aluminum, carbon, or just a kids bike. This rack can carry 250 lbs of bikes (4 x 60+). The market for carrying 250lbs of bikes is nearly zero. delivery was perfect. Assembly was easy with two people; probably could do it with one. As you can tell, it is a real stretch to find anything wrong with this. But my minor comments are above.

This product seems pretty well-made and I added a Kuat Pivot to assist with swinging our 4 bikes out of the way. Very well thought out products overall and we look forward to using it for years to come with our travels. Wish we knew that that Nv 2.0 and nv 2.0 add-on each came with a child bike adapter. I had separately ordered 2 from Kuat for my kids and had to eat the shipping costs on the whole return.

I like it a lot! I think it has solved my issue with having in easy, yet stable way to haul my bike on my 2012 Honda accord coupe. It's only been one day, so I can't speak about the durability. But it's definitely use a friendly and sturdy.

I looked at a LOT of bike racks, but when I saw the product video for this Hollywood rack and it was holding the bikes rock solid, no loose bouncing anywhere, I decided to try it and I haven't been disappointed yet. It is solid in the mount, it holds the bikes securely and the locking bars are a good deterrent to anyone wanting a quick steal. I don't leave mine on the car all the time, but so far in the weather here in Florida, it's holding up nicely. This is overall a great hitch rack. Its well made yet not too heavy. Its easy to mount on the receiver and has its own built in hitch pin, and hitch lock system. It is easy to tilt, making your vehicle’s hatch door accessible. My bike is very secure on the rack (it also has a built in cable lock. The only negative I can say is you cannot fold the rack arms down with the bike’s up tube tie stabilizer strap attached (you have to take it off & store separately, or attach it to one of the main bike crossbar tie down straps.

I love this bike rack! It's got the locks to secure the bikes and the rack. Most of all, when I drive on the highway, the bikes don't move at all. I feel the bikes are very secured on the rack.
