Best 2021 Subaru Forester Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

Ball mount kit arrived quickly (within a few days) upon placing order online. Parts were shipped loose in box and bottom flap on box was open when received. Fortunately, all the parts were still in box and in good condition. Kit includes ball mount hardware I need to pull trailers with different hitch heights.

I bought a trailer hitch for 2014 Subaru Forester. I installed the hitch and wiring harness myself in less than an hour. The product matched descriptions perfectly and thanks to the vehicle specific video installation tutorials these products are a breeze to install. Had a great year and attached two bike racks, one ski hitch, and one small trailer with ease also thanks to the accessory ball mount kit.

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

Very impressed with company keeping constant updates. Product was shipped very quickly. Heavy duty and extremely easy to install, granted I had a friend help and access to a lift. I will definitely be recommending etrailer to my friends.

Ball mount arrived with clean welds and smooth powder coat finish that matched the trailer hitch receiver. Mount fits snug in the receiver and provides excellent, printed weight limits to assure safe use. Will be used for utility trailer and possibly a small tent trailer suitable for the weight and pulling power for my Subaru Forester.

This hitch was installed on my 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Limited. The website is fantastic and makes finding the correct products for your vehicle very easy. The hitch arrived in only a few days and came complete with all the necessary installation accessories. The hitch comes with fish wire for the frame bolts so you don't need to fuss with buying fish wire. Some reviews stated that you can go in from the inside of the vehicle but this is totally unnecessary and more work. Just follow the instructions, with exception of the muffler heat shield. You can drill 1/2" holes through the heat shield in the dimpled areas corresponding to where the instructions tell you to cut out the heat shield (see some of the other reviews for more detail on this). These holes allow you to securely fasten the heat shield over the hitch using the hitch bolts. Make sure you have a torque wrench and an 11/16" deep socket to tighten the frame bolts. I would also recommend removing the muffler which is very simple. Lube the muffler mounts with WD-40 to facilitate the removal of the muffler. You will save at least $300 installing this yourself.

It looks tiny compared to other hitches, but is solid metal. The welds are fine and fits like it should. A necessary item for the trailer hitch.

I purchased a Curt class II hitch for my wifes subaru. I recieved it right away and the installation was a breeze. There was a simple little piece of two sided tape missing from the light wire kit. This trailer hitch was easy to install. I am eighty six years and a disabled Vet. I took my time and had it on in one and half hours. I also installed the heat deflector back on. I think this heat deflector should be reinstalled as the muffler creates a lot of heat. Saved a lot of money also as the dealer here wanted $500.00 for the hitch $60.00 for the wiring and half day to install. Thought he had a sucker but I didn't bite. Thanks much George J

I believe my choice, with the help of etrailer, of this Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver, along with a few other items to go with it, such as the drawbar, hitch ball and wiring harness, was a good one for my 2017 Subaru Forester. This got installed on my wife's Forester and we have used it several times for pulling a utility trailer and also for pulling our dock and raft at our camp. Very happy with the options it offers for moving more than fits in the car. Since the Forester had the dual exhaust, i did cheat and have my mechanic do the install. He did it within the hour that is advertised, but did say it would have been a bit of a challenge working at ground level. I think I still ended up paying less in total than going to a hitch installer overall, very happy with the hitch, wiring harness, and drawbar. It's especially nice to have the harness tucked away, as it doesn't get used that often.

Item was as stated and fit receiver perfectly. I used this to get my 30 year old tilt bed trailer to the correct height for my Subaru, as I no longer have a pickup truck.

Needed to pull a 5x8 trailer with a 22 forester. This ball mount had the perfect rise to brink the hitch ball to 18 & 3/4” at the center of the ball.

The 5" rise works very well on an '07 Subaru Forester to level out a utility trailer with 12" wheels. Shipping was prompt as well.

This drawbar was clearly used. See the picture. I asked etrailer about it and sent this picture but the person that replied, Noah, thought it must have been bumped around in shipping. If shipping caused this much damage, it's a poor quality product. If it was, in fact, used, then etrailer lied to me. Either way...not good.

Everything was fine, but I wish it were easier to flip it over to get a rise instead of a drop.

Put this on my daughter's Forester. She used the kit to move out of my basement, at the tender age of 31, and haul all her stuff back to Indiana to get a new start on adulthood. The kit worked like a champ - less hope things work as well for her.

I like that this design keeps trailers level rather than pitched forward for my 2007 Subaru Forester. Seems incredibly strong because of its weight and being one piece.

It is heavy duty and well-built. I am not disappointed at all and I get comments everyone smile from people who are used to traveling overseas asking where I got the European style hitch from. The only downside is the lack of interchangeability in the size of the ball itself but I don’t think that’s a big deal because I set it up for what I need it for and keep a vehicle vehicle for longer periods of time.

I needed to tow a trailer with a 2" ball. My original ball mount has a 1 7/8" ball installed. I had previously tried to change a ball on a hitch and destroyed the nut and damaged the underside of the ball mount. The lock washer had done a great job in keeping the nut from coming off. I dreaded trying to remove my 1 7/8" ball to install a new one that I would only use once. I decided to buy a new ball mount and mount the new 2" ball. This ball mount is so inexpensive that I realized I could have both ball sizes permanently mounted for use in either ball size.

Needed something to raise the hitch carrier on our subaru forester to clear the tailpipes. This was the ticket. Super fast shipping from etrailer and curt makes a sturdy, well finished product.

This hitch has worked perfectly on my Subaru for over a year now. Last summer I pulled my tear drop trailer around the country with no problems and the finish on the hitch still looks like new. I would recommend this hitch to a friend.

My order got messed up several times. From USPS lost in shipping, wrong part ordered, wrong amount ordered (my fault), wrong part number (printed on label from manufacturer) etc... In the end etrailer managed to make it right!
