Fits loosely into the hitch, along with a loose fitting pin. Thus, your trailer will constantly rattle and clang every 10th of a mile that you drive. It will drive you crazy and insane thinking that your trailer with your $50,000 boat or camper will disconnect and be left along the highway behind you for all semi-trucks to run over and shred to thousands of bits and pieces.

The draw bar is absolutely perfect! all other internet and local hitch installer contacts said no one makes a 1 1/4" draw bar with a 6" drop. first picture is my original draw bar with a 2.5" drop. the trailer was running quite high. number 2,3,4 are with your Brophy draw bar you can really see the trailer is level.I took a measurement that may come in handy in your files. my car is a 2012 ford escape with a factory trailer package . The measurement from the center of my receiver to the ground is 18"1/4" trailer tires are 5.30x12 This is my new car and I was surprised at the height. the Ford dealer was no help so possibly you can supply other 4 wheel drive escapes with draw bars.

This hitch is just what I needed. I have a Popup Camper I tow behind my motorcycle and also wanted to tow it behind my wife's Ford Escape. The issue is the trailer is very low and my MC hitch is only 12 inches off the ground. This gets me close so the trailer doesn't point to the sky. I hooked up the draw bar today for the first time to the trailer that I built and the hitch I installed. The draw bar uses a cotter pin that slides on the bolt rather than going through a hole to mount the bar to the hitch. I have never used a sliding on pin in anything - I've only used those that go through a small hole matching the pin. This includes my farm tractor and other tools. I hope it is secure because it does slide on easily. The bar itself appears nice and strong.

Works great with my new Kurt receiver hitch and the drop is perfect for a level tow on a '08 Ford Escape.

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

This has been an amazing multipurpose ball mount. We purchased this to use with our Hollywood Bike Rack and also to connect onto our boat. We weren't sure if this would work, but it was awesome. It is very well built and We had to make some minor adjustments to the position of our boat on the trailer so the turning radius of the bike rack that was attached would clear the truck. This is very well made and solid.

With a receiver hitch already installed on a ford escape all my receivers are 2 inch but the one on the escape is 1 1/2 inch so I had a problem that etrailer had a solution for , the proper sized hitch that works great .

My usage of your hitch is a bit unusual, I think. I pull a two ton roller with my Ram and I've used your cushioned hitch to smooth out the process. The roller Lunette just dropped over a 2" ball and then banged and jerked on the ball neck. Check out the photos for my adaptation.. I can flip it over and use the 2" ball! Have enclosed some photos. The cushion is holding up very well and it takes a beating!! Thanks

We have a Pink Tractor (google Mom's Pink Tractor) that we pull to events, mainly in Ks, Ok, Mo, and Ne. We have around 35 events a year we take the tractor to to promote breast cancer awareness. The other day my wife and I were leaving for an event, i had let a friend borrow the hitch to see how he liked it. In less then a mile from the house my wife started complaining about the trailer jerking. That is coming from a lady that really was upset when I paid that much for a hitch. She told me to stop and buy one. (a long and expensive trip, we had to stop at a casino so she could rest her neck) I could write a review with a lot of trailer talk, but, this story tells the story.

Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. Huge improvement on all accounts for us compared to our prior setup. The product is well built and I'm confident will provide us years of good use.

I purchased this Curt Ball mount 10-1/4" because I also bought ball hitch mounted mud flaps and my existing hitch was too short.This hitch was maybe a little too long, but it should work.I hope this combination will protect my horse trailer from my nasty gravel roads!

With good information from the website it was easy to order a Curt 2" Trailer Hitch, the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit w/ 4-Pole Connector and Circuit Tester - 119178KIT, Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches (3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 10-1/4" Long - 7,500 lbs - D-4), Curt Pin and Clip Hitch Receiver - C21500, Rubber Tube Cover for 2" Trailer Hitch Receivers - I-728,Review, and 2" hitch ball 40038. Parts were delivered earlier than the initial estimate. Self installation (on a sloped drive way) took just under 2 hour. The fit of parts was very good, instructions and on-line video's were very helpful. My Kia did not have the wire plug in option, but the splice connections in the wire kit were easy to install. Most of the parts are hidden from view when the ball mount is not used.

I needed to tow a trailer with a 2" ball. My original ball mount has a 1 7/8" ball installed. I had previously tried to change a ball on a hitch and destroyed the nut and damaged the underside of the ball mount. The lock washer had done a great job in keeping the nut from coming off. I dreaded trying to remove my 1 7/8" ball to install a new one that I would only use once. I decided to buy a new ball mount and mount the new 2" ball. This ball mount is so inexpensive that I realized I could have both ball sizes permanently mounted for use in either ball size.

I wasn't sure what type of ball mount I needed for my new Mazda CX-9, so I had to call a representative. The first time I called, the very knowledgeable gentlemen told me exactly how to measure my SUV to figure out the drop I needed. I called back the next day and talked to a lady who helped me figure out exactly what I needed. This is my second purchase from etrailer. The first was a hitch for my old Honda Odyssey, which was also a great experience. I used this on a 2014 Ford Fusion with a Reese receiver hitch made for my vehicle. Either the neck of the drop hitch is not long enough to get the ball a few inches away from the vehicle or the Reese receiver hitch sits too far under the vehicle.

This draw bar in perfect for my John Deere X738 tractor. What I like about it is the ¾” rise it keep the draw bar height at about the same as the factory frame so the attachments height remain level. Thanks for the great product.

Not much you can say about a bar with a piece of flat metal welded to it; well made looks good. What is really important is that e-trailer is fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I've ordered from them anytime I needed a trailer/RV part.
