I've had this for one year now. I like the length of it because I can drop my tailgate open without hitting the tongue jack. It also aids in backing the trailer with a large turning radius truck. It does make some noise when starting and stopping due to multiple joints. But is not a problem. The adjustability can't be beat for height and both sides. The heaviest load I towed was a large skid steer on a flatbed trailer. No problem. 384252

Quaility is top notch, price is great, can't beat it. It's perfect if you need a little more distance from your hitch and your bumper. I did not get a extended A frame on my trailer and with this hitch it works great. I'm pulling a 24ft cargo trailer 10k rating. I added 4 locking pins so I don't have to worry about anything missing. 445104

I pleased with my last order, but this order i was pleased with the Multi-Ball hitch. But the Replacement Rail Pins and Clips for Curt Fifth wheel Hitch I was NOT. The Pins and Clips were shown on the video and the pictures with "Gold Colored Zinc Coated Finish for better protection against rust and corrosion and should last for a long time" they just look like a standard silver colored steel pin and clip. I am hoping they are the same quality that I was expecting. 610281

I needed a hitch that I could haul my work trailer with and still drop the tailgate without dropping the trailer. I looked on etrailer and found one that would work barely but decided to call etrailer and see if anyone had any ideas. Steve answered and looked after I told him my requirements and came up with this. This has a longer distance from ball to pin by a few inches compared to the one I found so my tailgate will still drop even if I’m at an angle to my trailer or on a hill. Also with the adjustable height it’s great. Awesome hitch. Solid for a good price. ?? 739065

Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer. 127603

A year later and I love this setup! Pulls our flatbed cargo trailer 1-7/8 and our 1976 Apache pop-up trailer 2, each of which are at different heights, too.

Got to tow a boat trailer that sits 6" below the hitch when level. Probably overkill to use a 45 lb hitch for primarily a 2k lb boat, but I'm sure it will outlast both the trailer and truck. As far as the 'protective coating' I don't care much if it's not pretty, and for a solid 2" piece if metal, a lil rust is the least of my concerns. 349811

It's heavy! It's long. But works great and I use it regularly. I would recommend if you have 3 trailers and all of them have different size ball. I do.... 882136

Etrailer shipped the product on time and sent notifications at every step of the delivery prosses. I really couldn't ask more from this product it is very heavy duty given that its solid rather than hollow like most hitches and extremely versatile. I can tow any size trailer and either drop/raise the ball mount as needed. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the length. The hitch sticks out far enough from the receiver that standard length chains on trailers will not reach to hook up but that can be solved with some safety chain extensions. The up side to the extra length of the hitch is that you can make deeper turns while backing before contact with a trailer. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who tows multiple sizes and styles of trailers or very heavy loads. 793827

by:

Curt makes a very good product, only complaint is that if you purchase this product you must also purchase 2 anti wobble locks. As for the hitch ball mount it sticks out a little bit more then a standard ball mount, but it give you the extra length to swing a trailer in tighter spots. Also great for extended past the rear bumper slide in truck campers, so you can tow a boat/trailer etc. Heavy Duty product. Thanks etrailer 793153

This thing is a beast, installed on a 2017 F250 superduty 4wd. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase, price, and shipping. Well built comes with everything you need. Very adjustable for various applications. I would suggest buying at least 3 locking pins unless you want someone to walk off with it. Cant go wrong with this one. 776337

Works great, it’s durable and has everything I want it to have. Way cheaper than the competitors. Only thing I would like differently is the shank be shorter but it’s definitely no deal breaker. Makes good for long trailers. I leave it on 24/7 for morons on the road. 763486

  • Lighter Weight Adjustable 3 Ball Mount for 2 inch Hitch
The Curt Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount # D900 does weigh 45 lbs. If you wanted a lighter tri-ball setup you'd want to look into something like the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS10047B which only weighs 28 lbs and has the same specs aside from that. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Ball Mount with 6 Inch Drop That Won't Stick Out Further Than 10 Inches From Receiver
I can understand the concern with using a ball mount with a drop and a longer shank possibly creating a situation where it's more likely to contact the ground. I'll start by saying that the Curt Multi-Ball # D900 is a fairly standard length when it comes to an adjustable ball mount; there are some that come with a longer shank but the roughly 15" total distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball is fairly standard. Since you're looking to bring the...

It has a 10k capacity when used with the 2-5/16 inch ball, has a solid shank for the hitch and ball platform and has a distance of 15-1/4" from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole. It can also drop up to 5-3/4 inches.

I produced a short video and added dimensions to a photo for you so that you could measure and be sure the CURT Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount, # D900, would work on your 2005 Jeep Liberty with rear mounted spare tire. The most critical measurements are going to be measurement A and E, see photo. • Will Using a Long Ball Mount Reduce the Tongue Weight Capacity of a Trailer Hitch
First, the CURT Multi-Ball Adjustable Ball Mount, # D900, measures 15-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball. If you are needing 18 inches, this ball mount will come up just a little short. A fixed ball mount, like # 80232, is just a little longer at 16 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. The length will not negatively affect the tongue weight capacity of the hitch enough to warrant any concern provided you...

  • How to Gain Turning Clearance between a Truck and Bumper Pull Trailer
The problem that you will run into when using a hitch extender is the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch will be reduced by 50 percent.
