Today, we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made 26 inch Long Steel Gas Shock. Now this gas shock is designed to replace a worn out or damaged shock on your dock box or boat hatch. It extends to ease lifting your hatch lid and it'll compress to gently close your hatch without slamming. This is a coated annealed steel rod, which provides corrosion resistance so it is perfect for high saltwater areas. It does easily install in minutes, there's no special tools required. When you do install this, you want to make sure this inner rod is always facing down and it is recommended to replace these gas shocks in pairs.
This is a ball and socket installation. It'll attach to the ball studs in the inside of your boat's hatch or dock box. Connection type is a 10 millimeter ball socket. Basically when you go to install this, this socket right here has a little safety spring clip on it.So all you have to do is pop your old one off, this one will pop right onto the ball and lock into place. Length on the gas shock is always measured from the center of this ball socket to the center of this one.
So if we put a ruler on that and see there's your 26 inch length. The compression force on the shock is 40 pounds and this is for a quantity of one gas shock. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 26 inch Long Steel Gas Shock.
