Is There a Etrike Vertical Bumper RV Mount Rack?

Question:

Do you make a , 2 etrike vertical, bumper mount? The weight of each trike is 84 lbs for a total weight of 168 lbs. The mount will be on the bumper of a Forrest River ultra lite travel trailer.

Hi Doyle, Thanks for reaching out! I looked into this for you, and unfortunately, we don't carry any vertical e-trike bumper-mounted racks for a Forest River Ultra Lite. These setups are pretty specialized — especially when it comes to carrying heavy e-trikes like yours (84 lbs each!). There are a few options on the market but they are rare.

Most RV bumpers, including the one on the Ultra Lite, really aren’t built to handle that much weight, particularly with the extra stress of a vertical mount. Even if the bumper held up at first, it could cause damage over time, which definitely wouldn’t be ideal.

The best and safest option would be to install a frame-mounted hitch receiver and then use a hitch-mounted rack that's built for heavier loads. Let me know if you are open to the hitch option and I can help you get started with a plan.

Hey Doyle, did you decide to go with the hitch-mounted rack option for your e-trikes? I'm asking because it could help others looking for a safe way to transport their heavy e-trikes.

@HeatherA Hi Heather. I did not buy a rack for our trailer. We are using e-trikes and there was just not a good fit due in part to the spare tire which created an off set for the hitch itself. The set of rear tires on the trike are 30” fender to fender and even nesting thr trikes in the bed of my truck is tight.
