Features to know about

Built for a Clean Front End: Hidden Bracket Design with Removable Arms

When you’re done towing, you don’t have to live with bulky brackets sticking out of the front end. The Roadmaster EZ Crossbar Style Base Plate Kit uses a hidden bracket design that stays mostly out of sight once installed. The twist-lock drawbars remove in seconds—just twist and pull—leaving only a clean, streamlined look behind the grille. It keeps the front end protected from scrapes and scuffs while giving it a factory finish when not in use.

Quick Hookups with No Fuss: EZ Twist-Lock Connection

This setup makes connecting your tow bar quick and simple. The twist-lock arms insert into the brackets and secure without pins or clips—just a twist to lock them in place. When it’s time to disconnect, twist again and slide them out. The smooth mechanism makes one-person hookups easy whether you’re in your driveway or at the campsite.

Solid and Reliable: All-Steel Build with Black Powder Coat Finish

You can feel the quality in the steel construction. Each bracket is computer-cut and welded for precision, then finished with a durable black powder coat to resist rust and corrosion. It bolts directly to the frame for strength you can trust on long hauls, spreading towing forces evenly for stable performance over thousands of miles.

Simple Bolt-On Setup: Custom Fit with Included Hardware

No welding needed here—just a straightforward bolt-on install using the included mounting hardware and instructions. Every kit is custom-fit to the frame so alignment is easy and secure. Once installed, the base plate becomes a solid connection point that’s ready for your tow bar whenever you are.

Works Seamlessly with Roadmaster Tow Bars and Quick Disconnects

This crossbar-style kit includes attachment points for Roadmaster tow bars and Quick Disconnects, including setups that require a crossbar such as the Sterling series. You can connect your existing equipment without modification, keeping your towing system consistent and dependable every time you hit the road.

Thanks for being a great knowledgeable person about this tow set up. It fit perfect and the directions made it a no brainer

by:

Installed without a hitch! Matches up perfectly with the Roadmaster Stowmaster towbar we already had. Beautiful!

by:

Many reviews for this base plate said they could not hook up the U bolts. I had no problem using the U bolts. I did not tighten any bolts until I had them all in place. Then, I tightened all the nuts and bolts. I marked them with paint so I could see if any of them backed off. After a year, all of them are still tight. We towed our mini 4,000 miles in the first year.

It worked great, and would still be working if the motor had not blown for the second time in less than a year! Just ordered another one for my replacement car.

by:

Very fast delivery, excellent online installation instructions, everything as ordered, very pleased.

by:

Purchased for install on my 2011 Buick Enclave, Installation went along flawlessly following the supplied directions. Fitment to the car frame was exact with NO modifications required.

by:

I always buy from Etrailer. Products always as described and fit. Always use their informative videos. Staff is informative and very helpful.

by:

Here is an example of a Manufacture (Roadmaster) protecting their dealers, even though we are installers we are required to purchase from distributers, It is much easier to purchase from a quality E Dealer with a easy and complete web page than to spend my time walking into a local RV store and be frustrated with incompetent help. Thank you etrailer.....

Great, Great job!!!

I don't remember if these were for installing on the Buick or the MG.

If they were for the MG, I have used them a good many times and they are fine.

If they are or the Buick, I have not used them yet. I just need to finish up the wiring and the aux brakes for it.

Thanks for asking. I installed them without a problem with the intention of pulling the Buick behind the motor home till I realized the Buick was 1000 over the tow limit of the hitch on the motor home so wound up never using them. If I ever need to tow it, they are there.

by:

I called in the afternoon and the lady said it wood shipped that day which is normally not the case. But it was shipped that very day. The other thing I had called Road Master and they had gave me the part # for the rubber caps that goes on the end of the hitch which the order lady said wasn't right. She put me on hold and called Road Master and she came back and Road Master had gave me the number for the 1 1/4" instead of the 1 1/2" that I needed. Now that is what I call good service. I sorry I forgot her name but she deserves a Atta boy.
Thanks again for the great service

by:

Very nice product. Installation videos need a little help. Getting the front grill back on was a choir.

by:

Installed on 2014 GMC Acadia. Very sturdy and heavy duty base plate. I installed it myself. You will need a little automotive knowledge and more tools then the average do it yourself-er. It took about 6 hours, by myself. It looks more intimidating then it turned out to be. You can't see it when not in use which makes it nice for the wife, since it's her car.
Pictures show the tow bar adapter. Sorry, no pictures of adapter removed.
