  • Bolt Hole Measurements of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III 2" # 13408
My contact at Curt Manufacturing confirmed, that the bolt holes on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III - 2" # 13408, are spaced 4.35" on center from front to back. The forward most holes are spaced 39.937" apart on center, and the rear most holes are 39.437" apart on center.

  • Is GM Tow Package Or Etrailer Tow Package Better For 2021 Chevy Traverse?
If your 2021 Chevy Traverse has the factory tow package then it can tow up to 5,000lbs according to the online version of the owner's manual (I recommend checking your manual to verify). GM normally offers a more expensive hitch for the factory tow package and it usually does not hold up as long as aftermarket options. It looks like the factory tow package, along with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e56YR, are rated for up to 5,000lbs towing capacity and the etrailer hitch is rated...

  • Is Etrailer Ball Mount As Good Of Quality As Draw-Tite Or Curt?
The etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2-5/16" Ball - 2" Hitch - 2" Drop # e27DR is going to be just as good of quality as Draw-Tite or Curt ball mounts, but it does have a few benefits that stand out compared to other options. The etrailer option has a matte black finish which looks really nice and blends in with original factory appearance; also the ball and pin are coated in black nickel which holds up better than standard chrome. Also, etrailer designed and tested these ball mounts,...

  • Recommended Ball Mount with at Least 10" Length from Hitch Pin Hole to Ball Mount Hole
The Buyers Products Double-Ball Hitch # 3371802215 is right round 7-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch balls, so it may not provide the clearance you're looking to achieve. For that reason you may want to have a look at the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40343, which has 10-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball mount hole. This ball mount has a 6000-lbs capacity and requires a hitch ball with a 1" shank diameter like the # 63845...

  • Recommended Ballmount Rise and Drop for a 2004 Jeep Liberty
The recommended ballmounts for the 2004 Jeep Liberty with have a rise of 3/4 of an inch, and a drop of 2 inches. This would put your hitch ball at the most common trailer size, but to confirm it would work for your application I do recommend measuring. To find the required rise or drop for your particular trailer, you would first measure from the ground to the top of your hitch opening. If a hitch is not yet installed, you can also get close by measuring from the ground to a point just...

  • What is the Pin Hole to Ball Hole Length of Draw-Tite Ball Mount 40343
Ball mount # 40343 was measured when the video for it was made (which was recently). As you can see in the picture I have included we found that the distance from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole is 10-1/2 inches. If you want something even longer we have # BM20 which measures 13-1/4 inches from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole! I have linked a video review of this ball mount as well.

  • Extended Ball Mount For A 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
For your 2017 Subaru Outback needing more spacing between the bumper and ball mount I recommend using the Draw-Tite Ball Mount - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 10-1/2" Long - 6,000 lbs Item # 40343 along with the 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/8" Long Shank - Chrome - 7,500 lbs Item # 63845. Having 10-1/2" should give you plenty of clearance between the edge of the ball and the edge of the bumper fascia.

  • Will Using a Longer Ball Mount Give Me Less Tongue Weight Capacity
Fortunately, this is a case where any lost tongue weight capacity will be negligible (unless you add a severely long ball mount). But you are correct; adding adapters or extensions can cut your tongue weight capacity by 50 percent in many cases. But the good news is for this application, carrying a towing bike rack, you will not have to worry about losing tongue weight capacity. I recommend the # 40343 Ball Mount. It measures 10-1/2 inches from center hole to center hole. If you need...
