  There are two adapters we carry that will fit a Class I hitch and expand to a 2 inch hitch receiver, but they will reduce the tongue weight of your hitch by 50%.   Hey Dukane, the closest ball mount we have to what you mentioned wanting is the Curt part # C45018 which can do a drop of 1-1/4 inches. Unfortunately there isn't every single drop dimension available so best option is to go with one that is as close as possible that's maybe a little higher so that once there's some weight on the hitch it will sit level which the option I mentioned would do well.

  I do have another flat ball mount for the 1-1/4 inch hitch on a 2010 VW Tiguan. It is the Draw-Tite Class II Ball Mount, # 36051. I went to the warehouse and measured the distance from the weld to the center of the hitch pin hole and it measured 2-3/4 inches. You will want to measure the ball mount you have and see if this ball mount will work on your VW factory hitch.
