Video Transcript for Installing the Westin Custom Fit Truck Bed Mat on your 2016 Ram 1500

Hi there, Ram owners. Today in your 2016 Ram, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Westin's Custom Fit Bed Mat. We're showing it off on a 6-1.2' bed today but they're also available in a 5-1.2' and an 8' version.When you get your mat, it is going to come rolled up. Unfortunately, it does come rolled up kind of inside out so we can't just unroll it in the bed, but that's okay. We're going to go ahead and just cut this off right here, being careful not to cut our mat. It's a pretty rugged mat though so you likely won't cut through it with a razor knife, but just be careful anyway.So we went ahead and opened it up here and it rolled out.

This is going to be the rear right here, it's a little bit thicker than what's in the front so that way it will mold to our truck bed. So we're going to go ahead and bring this around to the front. And we're just going to flatten out the back and then we can move around to the other corner here at the front and then bring it forward.So now that we've got our liner installed, you can see it goes around our wheel wells and it molds into our truck bed nicely. Now our customer does have a drop-in bed liner here, but he wanted to keep this in while using his mat so that did cause some slight fitment issues, but overall it fits pretty well. We can see here around the back through to our liner it doesn't quite mold to that section as well as it would if we didn't have the aftermarket liner in there.But other than those few minor spots, it's going to work out very well with our liner.

And the main reason he wanted it was to protect the items he's going to be placing in his truck. This mat is not only going to protect your truck bed, but it's also going to help protect the items that you place on it. It has a nice soft surface in it in comparison to your regular truck bed, which is going to be hard metal or even a hard plastic like this.In addition to providing a softer surface, it's a textured, rubberized material, which is going to provide extra grip to help keep your items in place so they're not sliding around. So that's the main reason he wanted it in addition to his liner. The liner here is just going to protect your truck bed, but this is also going to provide a level of protection for everything that you're hauling back here, especially those more sensitive items.It's constructed of 100% recycled rubber so it's good for the environment as well as everything you're hauling.
