Today we are going to take a look at the Bulldog cast head coupler for a 2 5/16 diameter ball with the adjustable three position channel and this has a 14,000 pound weight capacity.Now this heavy duty coupler is ideal for utility, livestock, cargo, and construction trailers. It does use this wedge style latch, which is secure and very easy to use, has a release down here that will release it and then you just lift the latch all the way up to open it.I happened to pull here's a 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball, and you can see that the coupler will go right over the ball and then you release it, and then the little latch at the bottom will hold it into place. Now there is a hole in the latch here that you could actually put a coupler lock through there for extra security if you prefer, and then to release it just pull up again to release the handle, lift up on the latch, and it will remove it right from the coupler just like that.Now the channel bracket, right here, this can be bolted to or welded to the trailer. You can see it is a three different position channel bracket. It does give you a four inch adjustable height when you put the coupler here. Now, the coupler will mount to this adjustable channel bracket and this is the mounting hardware that is included that will attach the coupler to the channel.So again, if we just line the holes up, find the correct hole, slide it all the way through, just like that, and then slide the other bolt all the way through.

Then, take your nuts with the lock nuts on them and just go ahead and install those. Of course, you will tighten those all the way and that will put it at the position you need and again you can move it to whatever position you like.Now the specs on this again, it is designed to fit a 2 5/16 diameter ball. The coupler length, which is going to be . We're going to measure from the back of the coupler to the very front of the coupler. You're going to be looking at about 9 1/4".

The coupler width is going to be right at edge to edge about 2 7/8". Now the bracket itself, height on just the bracket is going to be right at 7 3/4" and the overall width on the bracket is right at 3 5/8" and of course the inside measurement width is 3".Now the distance between the center of the mounting holes, in other words from one hole to the other, center to center is going to be 2" and again the weight capacity on this is going to be 14,000 pounds.
