Today we're taking a look at the replacement section for the Progressive Dynamics 4500 series converter. This replaces the converter section for a 90 amp Progressive Dynamics, 4500 series Intelepower converter.It fits part number PD4590K18LS8, this is a direct replacement part, has all the same features as the original unit. Now, when you're ready to make your replacement, you'll need to remove the neutral, ground, and breaker wires that lead to the converter on the AC side. Then you'll need to remove the converter output wires from the DC side. That's the ground and positive wires.You'll need to make sure you unplug the TCMS wiring harness, and then simply unscrew the two screws that holds the metal converter plate to the plastic housing and then you repeat these steps in reverse to install the new converter section.That's going to do it for today's look at the replacement section for the Progressive Dynamics 4500 series converter. Again, this fits part number PD4590K18LS8..
Converter arrived a couple days earlier than they said. It was well packed, and it worked;all great things. Ensure you use the "Company" line on the shipping info form to enter your unit/site/condo etc. number; it wouldn't let me put it with the street address.
It seems to do its job well. The fan is noticeably louder and runs more often than the old unit but it isn't bothersome. I suspect the single heatsink requires more active cooling then the old dual heatsink model it replaced.

Works well. Our old one was starting to squeal horribly and about to go. We're full timers and rely on our systems very much. We have solar panels too and this converter works well with the panels as an add on to manage the battery level with the Wizard thing. Fast shipping, easy install, well protected in shipment box. If I ever have a problem with one again I'd be sure to buy from etrailer and this exact controller if applicable.

Worked just like the original. Had to replace mine due to a high pitch squealingwhining sound. Once I replaced simple process the sound was gone. Still working just fine
No more squeals. that why I replaced it.
We were concerned that this wouldn't be the same as what was in stalled but it's just what we needed. On time delivery.
Received in a few days, installed in about 10 minutes and voltages checked out. Amy at etrailer was very courteous and had our converter shipped with follow up emails with shipping info.

There is some troubleshooting that the manufacturer can walk you through but since it deals with live electricity, they recommend a technician does it. Please let me know if you would like me to pass along the troubleshooting guide.
Product arrived on time. Installation was quick and easy. I've had the product installed for 2 days and it's performing extremely well. Lithium batteries are testing and performing better than before.

Still works. Easy install. No high pitch squealing yet which was the reason for replacing the original.
