Will Progressive Dynamics PD4590CSV Work With Lithium

Question:

hi have purchased a replacement converter PD4590CSV for my RV that has/is PD45601K18L panel. I thought this converter would work with lithium battery up grade. everything i can find says theres an LI or LA switch which i dont have on my panel. please provide guidance...

Hi Ian; the # PD4590CSV is for lead acid and AGM batteries. I'm sorry to say that this particular converter section isn't one with the lithium switch you're referencing. Since you want to use it with lithium you actually need the Progressive Dynamics Lithium 90A 4500 Series Inteli-Power Converter Section PD4590LICSV instead.

@RobinH.I have an older converter/charger from progressive dynamics that smoked and really need to upgrade to lithium battery compatability. I have pictures of existing that wires to my existing distribution panel, so need the replacement to be compatable with dimensions and wiring.

Hi is there a switch on the PD Lithium 90A 4500 for the house lithium upgrade? And where is the switch located?

@Vang it depends on when it was made. Take a look at the answer page linked below which has some pictures showing the switch. The lithium converter section is no longer available so if you don't have the switch you need to replace the entire thing with # PD4590K18LS8
