I am not 100% sure what you are asking. The newer models of the power centers/converter sections like the Progressive Dynamics 4500 Series RV Converter # PD4590K18LS8 are coming with the switch that you are referencing that allows you to switch between battery types for charging.

Older models do not have that switch and there are some converter sections that do not have the switch still. Since you have the 90 amp version of the 4500 series, we do not have a replacement converter section with the switch. If you are switching to lithium batteries you would need to replace the whole converter section with the Progressive Dynamics Lithium 90A 4500 Series Inteli-Power Converter Section # PD4590LICSV.

If you are just needing a replacement converter for flooded lead acid, AGM, and gel batteries then you would want the Progressive Dynamics REL 90A 4500 Series Inteli-Power Converter Section # PD4590CSV.

If your model has the switch, you just have to switch it from LA (lead acid) to LI (lithium).

If I have misunderstood what you are needing, please do not hesitate to reach back out.

I have a the converter in the second picture with the mode button but no battery type selector switch. Does this mean that I am not able to install lithium batteries with my current converter?

@Wesley You are correct. That mode button allows you to manually switch between modes like Boost mode, Storage mode etc. You don't have a way to switch to Lithium on this model, unfortunately. Do you know the part number of your converter charger section, or the power distribution panel all together? I will see if there's a replacement converter section that is lithium compatible. If not you'll need to replace the entire distribution panel with lithium compatible setup. The #PD4590LICSV used to be the correct replacement for the converter section, but it's been discontinued so I have a feeling we may be out of luck on replacing just that section.

@AndrewN We have the same situation. Our converter was blown (don't ask) and we need to replace it. However we also want to convert to Lithium. Do we need a whole new panel and converter? Not sure where the part number is, there's a bar code on the converter with this: A19122S055927 There's a sticker that says 110535 and 1843 if that helps. Thanks.

@Jim Hey Jim, thanks for joining in. I'm happy to help, but I'm not finding anything with those numbers you've provided. I'm thinking those may be barcode or serial numbers and not enough for us to match it up. Do you know if the converter section has a code starting in PD or something like that? You could always send a picture to this email address [email protected] and I can try to match one up. If you don't have a switch to change it to LI (lithium) mode then you'll need to upgrade the converter section. Hopefully one is available so you don't need the whole new power distribution panel.
