Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the Optronics Branch Deflector Bracket for 2-1/2" Round Lights

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Optronics Branch Deflector Bracket. Now this helps to protect your light a little bit from any kind of low hanging branches or maybe some brush as you're going down the road, maybe going along a trail or somewhere a little bit off the beaten path. And it helps to just get those branches going up and away from your light rather than just hitting them right from the side or straight on.So that we can use this in a top position or maybe on a side depending on where you want to mount it up, whether that's kind of high on the back of your trailer for brake lights or on the side for your side deflector light.It does require a mount and grommet, so you can use part number A56GB or A57GB. This one is A57GB and basically the only difference between those grommets is that one has the open back like this one and the other one has a closed back. So you want to make sure that whenever you put this in place, you put the grommet in before you get your light in place just to make sure that this lip gets fully seated into that bracket.

Whenever the light is in there, it's pretty difficult to get that in place so you push it down and then just seat that lip all the way around so that it sits on top of there and then it's going to hold really firmly inside the bracket. So it should look something like that. And then our light can pop down in place.Now the grommet and this light I'm just showing you for demonstration just so you can get an idea of what it's going to look like. They are both sold separately. They don't come with this bracket, so you will have to pick them up on your own.

We've got a lot of options for two and a half inch diameter lights, which is what this works with. I'm just using an amber one, but there's red as well. So you can find all those here at etrailer.com. Again, the part number for this is A57GB.But that's what it should look like whenever you're light and the grommet are in place. So it's still going to stick up a little ways from your trailer and it seats high in that grommet just because of the way it's designed back here.

You could maybe push it a little bit further in, but there's these tabs in the way. So I'm going to try to seat this down a little bit further just to see if I can get it to be completely flush. Because really that's the idea here is that we can keep our light from getting smacked by any branches and things like that.So now it's seeding further down in there. It's squaring off the back. That's okay.

So now it's a lot more flush inside there. So that should do a good job of keeping our light away from any of that debris coming up and hitting it and causing any issues with cracking that lens, maybe ruining our LEDs or incandescent bulb depending on what we have inside.So it's made of a durable molded plastic. Should do a pretty good job of keeping everything safe inside there. Going to pop this back out and we'll go over some dimensions. You can also find wiring to go on the back of these lights. Just has a little piece of tape there to keep it from getting breezy, but have we have different plugs available to make that easy there. Lot of different accessories available here at etrailer.com.So I'm just going to pull this all the way out and overall, from side to side, this measures about 5 and 11/16 long or just under 5 and 3/4 inches long. It's about 3 and 1/8 inch wide. We'll have two mounting holes. It does not come with any hardware for that, but the distance between them, center to center, is 4 and 3/4 inches. The diameter of those mounting holes is about 1/4 inch. And the height of this bracket is just about 1 inch.This will work as an exact replacement for the unit bond number BD2500.
