With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.

Easy-to-Remove, Simple-to-Store Hitch Ball

The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Operation

When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.

Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.

Simple, Custom Installation

This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.

Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.

B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. Even a truck bed utility rack is available so that you can easily haul ladders and lumber with the load placed on the hitch (and therefore your truck's frame) instead of your bed rails.

1997 ford f250 Works great, except the turnover part, the ball hits the sway bar. Install was not as easy as stated but that's probably because the kit was more of a universal fit for my truck and I had to do a lot of drilling.

I still have no complaints about the work ethics of this setup.

4th conversion on same truck regarding fifth wheel hitch - this is cats meow - love the flush bed floor w/ball inverted and got rid of the nasty bed mounted receiver which was always in the way. Am sticking with this setup for good. Pricey item but sturdy. Its a DIY install but not for the faint hearted.

I have had nothing but an outstanding experience with your company. I had ordered the incorrect item at first and had no problem exchanging it for the correct one. The only thing I think that needs to be improved is how to determine if you have helper springs, I found the info. under the Q&A tab

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

This was my first order I placed with et etrailer. If one work could say it I guess it would perfect! I ordered on a Tuesday arrived on Thursday. I Placed the order got conformation and a name and contact to call if I had any issues, once it arrived I got another email letting me know if had been delivered. The installation video was perfect made it’s easy to install just followed the steps. When I need any trailer related items I will use them. As far as the B&W hitch i put it in a 2017 Ram 2500 with Ram boxes. The fit and quality of the hitch and design is what I have come to expect from B&W. I got this hitch to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. If your wondering if it will work with Ram Boxes it will.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

Received in terrible condition. One box was completely open at all borders and finish on hitch was chipped in multiple places. Product was shown as in stock when order was placed but wasn't shipped until the day AFTER it was supposed to be delivered. Two calls to etrailer told me it would be shipped prior to that date but obviously just trying to smooth over the situation. Installation was completed per instructions and watching etrailer [online] videos without issue. Only difficulty is torquing the bolts to final specs in tight spaces.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

Overall this Installation went as I anticipated, 4-5 hours; it's not for an unprepared amateur. I strongly recommend watching the Installation Video, but more importantly, disconnecting the wiring harness (from both sides, there's 3 connectors) that cross over the rear cross member above the Differential. Disconnecting the rear exhaust was a MUST DO for us (my son helped me) as is a second person. Patience was our friend during this entire Installation for both of us. The brake line that crosses over to the passenger side was of concern to me, and got in the way as well; in the end it is below this entire installation. However there is a Mount Block on the driverside that creates a problemwith getting one bolt into place; a "Fishing Spring" (spring wire that wraps around the threads with long tail to fish/thread/pull thru the hole) would have helped to get this into place. (SEE PICTURE) Once in place the head is able to be held with a narrow spanked wrench while tightening. The rear center bolt is a HUGE challenge to reach once everything is in place and you're torquing things to spec.I had to purchase a "3/4" Crowsfoot" to get this and some of the others because of things blocking access with a socket (not talked about in the video or Installation Video). Once everything is in place and Reconnecting electrical plugs we found that there was enough gap/spacebehind the Kit Rear Cross Bar, over the vehicle rear cross member, to run the driver side electrical. Pay attention to have the "male" plug facing inboard to give you enough slack to reach the passenger side plug. A couple of zip-ties were needed to keep this inplace. See picture for how I routed this and the vent tube to avoid the heatshield. I've got a 26 foot Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV Trailer that I be using this, along with an Andersen 3217 hitch. With this B&W Hitch I don't have the 5th wheel Rails across the bed full-time anymore of my 2022 Ram 1500DT 4x4.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

This definitely is not a plug and play mechanism. There is interference with the lever to unlock the ball and it hitting one of the bolts. I had to shave the bolt down to make it even slide by, in addition to this I had to cut about 1/4” off the mechanism lever for it to open all the way and not hit the bracket on the truck. So in summary I had to make two cuts into the product to make it even function properly. Poor quality control.

This is a good kit. It took me about 3 hours to install, but I'm not the fastest. You'll need a floor jack, rope, 4" hole saw, 1/2" and smaller drill bits, drill, torque wrench, sockets, wrenches, and a impact driver would help make the job faster. Use the floor jack in the truck bed with a rope to lift the heavy plate into place. See pictures.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

The installation videos are pretty accurate all around. Admittedly, this took me a little longer than the projected time frame, which I anticipated. Removing the driver side wheel well insert also made torquing the bolts there easier. Installation would likely be easier with a buddy, and reaching the torque specifications on several bolts was difficult with a standard 1/2 inch drive torque wrench, but it was all possible and fit 100% perfectly. Excellent conversion for my 3500 8foot bed. Next step is to get the matching fifth wheel hitch and purchase our dream RV.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service. However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well. B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

Great sturdy product. My used 2012 F-250 came with one and now have one on my 2020 F-250, I think it's a better product than the Ford factor hitch. The installation video is VERY helpful. Torquing the bolts requires a lot strength and flexibility due to the awkward positions you have to get in but it can be done with patience and prayer. Just plan on dropping the exhaust as shown in the video. As is consistently the case e-Trailer's customer service is second to none. We've already used it several times to pull at 16' gooseneck dump trailer and it works very well.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

I put B&W turnoverball on a 2016 Ram 2500 crew cab short bed diesel,it has the factory prep puck. The change over was pretty simple. I used the same studs and nuts that came with puck goose ball. Tbe only hard part was trying to pry the 4" exhaust pipe down to slide the B&W plate into position. It took me about 2 hours to install by myself. I am going to use a 4" offset ball so I can use a reese goosebox hitch for my 5th wheel.

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

Worked out … Perfect upgrade to the factory system. I hated having to remove , and place the covers in the bed. Now that the safety chains are closer to the center I can load boards and stuff that I don’t want in the trailer in the bed without having to rearrange everything. Only thing is the safety chain hoops are little thicker than the bed ribs and stick up. So it’s not totally flat..

Review from a similar Turnoverball in Gooseneck Hitch

Very heavy duty goose ball. Love that the bed is mostly free of obstructions when not using the hitch. Install took 2.5 hours for two of us and we did have access to a hydraulic lift. I couldn’t imagine trying this install alone or without the lift mostly because of how heavy this hitch is and the bolts/nuts you need to be able to reach and torque down. The worst part was drilling a 4” hole in the bed of a new truck, very nerve racking! I also like that this is custom fit for my truck and there were no hes that needed to be drilled in the frame, everything lined up perfectly. The etrailer install video was key, very informative and so much better than the instructions that came with the hitch. Delivery of the hitch was fast, only 4 days after ordered.

Great fit. I installed this hitch in 4 hours with a little help from my wife. She helped me fish a chain through the hole in the bed and attach it to a floor jack. We use it in conjunction with an Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch. I used it to pull a 16,000 lb fifth wheel trailer 100 miles with no issues. Everything is still tight.

BW makes a great product I have several of their gooseneck hitches. Unfortunately my latest purchase was severely damaged during shipping. I spoke to etrailer and they seemed supportive and willing to help with all the missing hardware from my order…but that’s where it ended. 2 calls to them 3 emails to them and absolutely no response. Definitely recommend BW hitches but pretty disappointed with etrailer’s absolute lack of response

This thing is awesome!! Well designed and can be installed at home. I have not towed with it yet but that will change soon. Would state that two things, 1st torquing this to spec will require the right tools. Second make sure you have a new/ sharp hole saw. When installing mine I had a used while saw that walked a little. Just a cosmetic issue and the spray in Berliner will fix!!

Comments
Only way to go! I have used this with my Reece Goosebox and love it. With over 4,000 miles pulling and 9,000 miles on the truck total I have not complaints at all. Would recommend to ensure you grease the ball every time you hook up!!

  • Can Gooseneck Hitches Be Installed in a Truck with a Body Lift
The problem with putting a gooseneck hitch in a truck with a body lift is that the gooseneck hitch mounts to the frame, and as you know a body lift will lift the body higher off of the frame. Well, a gooseneck hitch installs onto the frame and the ball height is set for vehicles without a body lift. So, if you were to install a hitch on a truck with a body lift the ball will not stick up far enough through the body for a gooseneck coupler to attach to it. With a body lift you will not...

For the 1995 Ford F250 Extended Cab truck without overload springs a gooseneck hitch, like the B&W Turnover Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1100, is conformed to fit your vehicle. The cab and chassis model F250 are vehicles that do not have a truck bed attached, used as the chassis for a RV motorhome, or the chassis for a service or emergency vehicle. • Installing the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch on a 1997 Ford F-350 with Duraliner
You will have no problem installing a B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch in your 1997 Ford F-350 with the Duraliner bedliner. You will have to cut through the bedliner for the hitch ball hole and for the safety chain loops. Also, if the bed liner is too tall to allow the gooseneck coupler to rotate properly you may need to cut a larger hole in the bed liner avoid interference from the bed liner while towing. If your truck has overload springs, then the hitch that you will want is part #...

  • B&W Gooseneck Hitch for a 1989 Ford F-350
The B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRM1319 that you referenced is for a Ram 1500 so it isn't compatible with your 1989 Ford F-350. Instead you want part # BWGNRK1110 if you have the Overload Springs or part # BWGNRK1100 if you don't have the Overload Springs. Please note that neither of these will fit if you have a Cab and Chassis or your F-350 has a 34" frame. Attached are some review videos and installation instructions for you to check out.

  • Recommended Underbed Gooseneck Hitch and 5th Wheel Hitch For 1994 Ford F-250/350
I have another option for you that has great reviews and is similar to the hitch you mentioned, but we do not currently carry Putnam products. I recommend taking a look at the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch W/ Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRK1110 if your 1994 Ford F-250/350 has overload springs, or # BWGNRK1100 if your truck does NOT have overload springs. The B&W Turnoverball offers a 30000lb gross towing weight limit, 7500lb vertical load limit, and has a limited lifetime...

  • Gooseneck Hitch and Suspension Enhancement that Fit Together on 1996 Ford F-250
Unless you'd be interested in going to a different suspension enhancement setup we won't have a solution since all of the gooseneck hitches we offer mount on the outside of the frame rails where your current air bag brackets are. The B and W kit part # BWGNRK1100 that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your truck though and is a really great hitch but you'd have to go with a different suspension kit like the Timbren # TFR250SDE which will give you the same support and then will also...

  • How to Protect Gooseneck Hitch Ball Receiver on B&W BWGNRK1100 Gooseneck Hitch From Corrosion
According to B&W, readily available automotive touch up paint would work excellent for protecting any spot on the hitch where the finish might have come off. Touch up paint is readily available from any auto parts store. When the ball is stowed upside down in the hitch, using the rubber cover, part # BWGNXA1710 is recommended. I've linked you to some product description videos that you might find helpful.

  • Recommended Air Bags for 1997 Ford F-250 with B&W Gooseneck Hitch In the Bed
You can use the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers - Rear Axle # AL88298 with an in-bed hitch system like your B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck hitch # BWGNRK1110 (with overload springs) or # BWGNRK1100 (without overload springs) since they install away from where the Gooseneck brackets do. I really like these AirLift bags since they have an internal jounce bumper that provides additional support and protection for the bags in the event of a malfunction....

  • How to Know When to Install Air Bag Suspension Enhancement for 2019 Ford F-350 Towing 5th Wheel
If when you are towing you notice that your rear suspension is sagging noticeably it would be a good time to go with suspension enhancement. You do want to make sure you aren't exceeding the towing capacity of the truck but if you are experiencing sag while under the capacity it would be time for rear suspension enhancement. If you are hitting the bump stops like you mentioned then it would definitely be time. For your 2019 Ford F-350 that has the factory fifth wheel rail kit we have the...

  • B and W Fifth Wheel Towing Setup Recommend for 1991 Ford F250 XLT Lariat
For your 1991 Ford F-250 HD the B and W gooseneck hitch part # BWGNRK1110 is the correct Turnover ball gooseneck hitch that your truck would need. Based on the frame dimensions of your truck it was not original a cab and chassis truck (although it appears to be one in the picture) so this hitch is a confirmed fit. Cab and chassis trucks have frames that measure 34 inches apart outside to outside. If your truck is a short bed truck the slider hitch you would need is the part # BWRVK3400-5W...
