Video Transcript for Review of Optronics Trailer Light Parts - Light Bracket - BK5557GB

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a quick look at the cam-on mounting bracket for your LED or incandescent trailer lights. This is just a handy little bracket to be an attachment point for your light. Kind of dress it up a little bit, give it a little bit more of a finished look and have a dedicated mounting spot for that. So it's just going to be a plastic construction. Allows the light to turn in place, so it sits in the center there.

I have one of the LED lights that's going to work with it. These are available here at etrailer.com. You can also find incandescents as well. So basically it just turns in there, holds really nicely. You can see it looks pretty nice on our holder and it just kind of cleans up the look, makes it look more finished and gives it a place to kind of stick out from the rest of our trailer.Again, the way it attaches, there's kind of a little fin here on the back of the light.

It may be hard for you guys to see, but there's just two little tabs that come off the sides and those kind of taper up and around. So that's what fits into this same cutout on the bracket. So we aligned those two up like that, turn our light all the way in and there it's nice and seated. Now this one is a two and a half inch diameter light. It will work with some two inch lights as well.

There's just going to be a bit of a gap in between the light and the sides of the bracket. But as long as it has this little catch at the back and it fits in there, it should be just fine. It just kind of depends on what you want the light to look like.I personally think that it looks better with that full space taken up by the light, but it's up to you. We'll have different configurations, kind of different patterns of light, red and amber lights for your different applications. This light does not come with this bracket. I just wanted to show it to you. So you get an idea of the size and how it fits together. The overall size of the bracket just on its own, it's four inches long, two and a quarter inch wide, and then one and a 16th inch tall. The distance between those mounting holes, center to center is three inches.It does not come with mounting hardware. So you will need to pick that up on your own, but this should be a nice little accessory for your trailer. Again, by having it raised up off of the surface can kind of helps to protect that light, give it something to deflect off of. So if you happen to be scraped by the branches or underbrush, things like that should deflect off the bracket rather than cracking the lights.
