Best MORryde Cushioned Pin Box For A 2025 Forest River Impression 318RLVIEW

Updated 10/24/2026 | Published 10/15/2026

Question:

Our camper is a 2025 Forest River Impression 318RLVIEW. The GVWR of our camper is 14,625, which would put us technically into the 18-21k rated hitch. However, our camper probably sits closer to the 12,500-13,000 mark when towing 99 of the time. Even with fresh tank full I doubt we are at 14,000. That being said, is it advisable to use the 11-14k rated hitch since our actual towing weight falls in the specs of the hitch or get the 18-21k version which may be too stiff of rubber dampeners to really make the ride better?

Hi Dillon!

If your 2025 Forest River Impression 318RLVIEW isn't ever loaded over 14,000 pounds, then the MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box for 11K to 14K Trailers w/ Lippert Rhino # MR44HR will indeed be your best option. Going with the next step up (the # MR83QR rated for 14K to 18K pounds) will likely end up being a bit too stiff and will make all the bumps you hit on the harsh side.

However, if you are getting to 14,000 pounds, the # MR83QR is the recommended option. It won't be anywhere near as stiff as the 18K to 21K, but it will be stiffer than the 11K to 14K option. So with the # MR44HR and # MR83QR being options for you, it really would be a good idea to take your camper to some scales when you have it fully loaded up to see which will be the best option. It definitely wouldn't hurt to be completely sure before you go with one. Just in case.

What kind of roads are you typically taking when you go camping? Mostly highway or off the beaten path kind of stuff?

Agree with Lazer S. Actual weight is what you need to use. Knowing your Fifth wheels characteristics is key to buying after market parts. I have no issues with mine and have towed with it over 7k miles. Good luck.

Agree, the heavy duty one will be to stiff. I have had one on all of my fifth wheels and will not go without one. A world of difference when pulling on rougher roads. Moryde pin box is the only way to go.

I agree with LazerS. The movement in the hitch is what makes it work. I have the cushioned hitch and morryde suspension and together you don’t know trailer is behind you.
