Features to know about

Built Strong but Easy to Handle: 20,000 lbs GTW and Only 70 lbs Hitch Weight

The Curt CrossWing gives you the same heavy-duty hauling capability you expect from a full-size fifth wheel hitch, but without the strain of lifting a 200-lb chunk of steel. It’s rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 5,000 lbs vertical load, yet the two-piece steel body weighs just 70 lbs total—65% lighter than most traditional designs. Built-in grip points make it easy to lift out of the bed when you’re done towing, so clearing your truck bed doesn’t require equipment or an extra set of hands.

Simplify Every Hookup: Open-Faced Funnel Head and Pin Box Coupler System

Instead of fighting with jaws and pin alignment, the CrossWing uses a unique coupler piece that bolts around your trailer’s king pin and slides directly into an open-faced hitch head. The angled contact surface lines up perfectly in view of a 3rd-brake-light camera so you can see what’s happening from the cab as you back in. Once it settles into the head channel, lock it in place with the ergonomic handle and you’re ready to roll—no color indicators or guesswork required.

Smooths Out the Ride: ShockDrop Cushioned Isolator

Rough roads and heavy loads usually mean jarring motion between truck and trailer. The CrossWing’s ShockDrop technology uses a polyurethane isolator at the hitch head pivot point to absorb shock, chucking, and vibration before it transfers through the rig. It keeps movement controlled on uneven terrain and helps reduce wear on both your truck bed and trailer over time.

Clearance and Control Where It Counts: Adjustable Height and 9" Offset

To get your trailer level and maintain turning clearance, the CrossWing offers three height settings from 17-1/2" to 21-1/2" along with a built-in 9" offset from center. That offset gives extra breathing room for short-bed setups or tight campsite maneuvers while keeping your truck and trailer tracking smoothly. Bed protector supports distribute force evenly across the bed surface to help prevent abrasions and add structural support under load.

Built for Long-Term Use: Steel Construction with Textured Black Powder Coat

Durability isn’t sacrificed for weight savings here. The premium steel body is reinforced at key connection points for strength that holds up trip after trip. A textured black powder coat resists rust and wear from weather exposure, so whether you’re towing across multiple states or unhooked in storage, this hitch stays ready for the next haul.

I have my pickup bed back! I had a “removable” slider hitch that was heavy and cumbersome enough that I left it in the truck. I replaced it with the Crosswing and I now have a removable hitch. The way the hitch mounts and the curve of the trailer mean I don’t need a slider hitch anymore. Good riddance!

by:

When I first purchased this hitch I was skeptical. Once I installed it, I was surprised about the weight and the easiness of putting it in and out of my truck. Since last year, I have towed my fifth wheel on 4 different occasions and am very impressed on how easy it is to hook up and how well it tows. The last time we went camping, I noticed another camper that had a bigger fifth wheel than I have and he had a Crosswing as well. I highly recommend this hitch.

by:

Arrived on time and it was in perfect condition. Easy to put together, you do need a torque wrench that goes up to 300 foot pounds. Hitching up is very easy. I did a test tow and it was a huge improvement over my old curt a16 for a smooth ride. Looking forward to my next long trip with my new crosswing hitch. Thanks etrailer

Hey John - I am really sorry to hear that. I took a look at the notes on your account and I think we had a misunderstanding on our end. We will be in touch with you about this!

by:

This is our third hitch purchased and it is the best one we've used so far. Its fast, simple and light weight which makes it very easy to assemble and disassemble.

by:

This hitch is light weight (70lbs) easy to install and connect to the trailer. It is completely quiet and has no chucking at all.

by:

Very quick delivery and Cassandra was awesome to work with.

by:

Everything seems fine but I do have a little clunk at the "V" connection point when braking from a forward movement. Otherwise easy install, lightweight and a solid connection to my Gooseball.

by:

Excellent hitch! The only torque of 350 lbs. on a couple of the bolts. I’ve only been able to torque them to 250 lbs. It tows awesome and is an amazing hitch.

by:

This hitch has been great for me towing my 14k 5th wheel. The innovative design makes it easy to hitch up, and the 8" offset allows nearly 90 degree turns with my F-350 short bed. The lighter weight is a bonus. I had a small issue and Curt was quick with resolution.

by:

We've had the crosswing for a year now. We've towed our 38 ft 5th wheel 1000s of miles with no issues. It's a game changer. Easy installation. It's easily removed from the truck bed with one person and small enough to store without taking up a huge space. We have tons of space left in the bed for other things we take camping. There is absolutely no bucking as with our previous hitch and it makes towing easy. They really broke the mold when they made this product!

by:

This hitch is so much better than the standard 5th hitch. After initial setup it can be installed or removed easily. Both take 15 minutes or less. I am 69 and I can complete everything myself.
Highly recommend.

by:

This hitch has worked very well. I have taken a 3000 mile trip as well as many smaller trips. It hooks up easy and tows well.

I am still satisfied with the hitch. I have over 8000 miles and going strong. It does have a little wobble in the head. Not sure if normal and the piece where the pin slides in got bent a little bit, but still working good.

by:

Quick shipping, easy installation, and works great. Actually easier to use than the behemoth it replaced. And, I can take it out and put it back in by myself. As always. ETrailer service was spot on.

  • Can Curt CrossWing Fifth Wheel Hitch # C92DR Be Used with Short Bed Truck
The Curt Crosswing fifth wheel hitch part # C92DR does offer an offset built into it of 9 inches to help with turning clearance for short bed truck...BUT most modern fifth wheel trailers have tapered noses which are designed for short bed clearance so you may not need it. So it depends on how short your truck bed is and if the trailer has a tapered nose. Most short bed trucks are between 6 foot and 6-1/2 foot so if yours is on the longer side you are probably totally fine.

  • Will the Curt Crosswing Work w/a 2017 Ram 2500 Factory Gooseneck Ball?
Hey Mark. The Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Hitch item # C92DR is going to attach directly to a gooseneck ball like the Curt item # C60629. This gooseneck ball will install inside your Ram's gooseneck hitch and provide the attachment point for the CrossWing item # C92DR. You will also need the Safety Chains for Curt Crosswing 5th Wheel item # C95NR. The CrossWing item # C92DR being a gooseneck adapter will require safety chains by law. Please note that a major issue with using...

  • What Size Gooseneck Ball Is Needed For The Curt CrossWing 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C92DR
The gooseneck ball coupler on the Curt CrossWing # C92DR will only work with a 2-5/16" diameter gooseball. Since you have the OEM prep package I recommend picking up the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loops Kit for Ram Underbed Gooseneck Hitch - 30K # C60618 so that you also have attachement points for the safety chains if you ever decide to tow a gooseneck trailer or if you'd just like one more point for securing cargo in the bed of your Ram.

  • What Size Ball and Torque Setting Can Be Used With the Curt CrossWing
Tim, there is not a gooseneck ball height size recommended to use the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C92DR, so a 2 5/16" ball # BWGNXA2061 will work fine. Curt specifies that the only thing that needs to happen is that the 20mm carriage bolt must completely protrude through the 20mm flange nut and the 20mm jam nut, and the 14mm hex head cap screws must be allowed to make contact with the gooseneck coupler. If either of these things don't happen, it means that the...

  • Can I Use the Curt CrossWing with My MorRyde Cushioned Pin Box?
Hello Tony, I found the conflicting answers you are talking about and am getting them fixed as well, so thanks for pointing that out. The Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 20,000 lbs # C92DR WILL work with the MorRyde Cushion Pin Box like # MR84VR. The Pin Box's that the Curt CrossWing will NOT work with is the Roto Flex, Flex Air, Air Ride, or Helux because they are articulating pin boxes. Once you get things set up, please let me know what you think of it. I hope...

The Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C92DR is a great option for your 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. If you have the factory prep package then all you need is a gooseneck hitch ball like the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit part # C38CR or if you don't all you need is a gooseneck hitch like the Curt Custom Underbed OEM-Style Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # C60642. These both use a 2-5/16" hitch ball which is what the hitch requires. These are no in-bed rails with...

Hey Bette, the short answer is yes! The Ultra-Fab Economy 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer # UF19-950500 will work for 5th wheels when they're unhooked from the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C92DR. It'll be able to support any 5th wheel you're using the CrossWing for, as long as your pin weight is under the 5,000-lb capacity. You can get an exact measurement at a highway weigh station. • Difference Between Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitches C32DR and C92DR
The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # C32DR and part # C92DR are the exact same. This hitch is designed to attach to a gooseneck hitch and provide a connection for a fifth wheel hitch. Therefore, if you have a standalone goosneck hitch or factory prep package this is the hitch you'll want to use. It's very lightweight at only 70 lbs so it's easy to get in and out of the truck bed by yourself. Please note, there is another version of this hitch...

  • Is There Difference Between Curt Crosswing 5th Wheel Hitch # C32DR and # C92DR
There basically is no difference but we have two part numbers for the Curt Crosswing depending on where we have it listed on our website. As a fifth wheel hitch it's part # C92DR or as an adapter for a gooseneck hitch ball part # C32DR.

  • Can Curt CrossWing Fifth Wheel Hitch be Used with MORryde Pin Box
No it cannot. No version of the Crosswing can be used with any rotating pin box since they only attach to the vehicle to a gooseneck hitch ball down the center which is not adequate for the twisting torque that the pivoting pin boxes put on the hitches.

  • How Much Offset Does The Curt CrossWing Have From The Gooseneck Hitch Ball
Jameson's wording could've been better but what he meant was that there isn't any way to adjust the connection point of the Curt CrossWing Lightweight # C92DR since it only allows for you to raise of lower the hitch head. In the question he was asked the neighbor referred to the Andersen hitch and talked about moving it a specific way to allow for more turning clearance. The # C92DR can only be mounted one way and doesn't offer adjustability. Per Curt's website, the CrossWing has 8.4"...

  • Will the Curt CrossWing Work w/ a Rhino Pin Box?
Yes, the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # C92DR is compatible with a Rhino Pin Box. This 5th wheel hitch attaches to a standard 2-5/16" diameter gooseball. Since you have the OEM prep package, I recommend using the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loops Kit for Ram Underbed Gooseneck Hitch item # C60618. You won't need the safety chain loops for this hitch but it is nice to have them on hand if you ever pull a gooseneck trailer.

Hi Phil, Great questions, sounds like a really nice setup you’re putting together. Good news here: the handle on the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNXA2061 will not interfere with using the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C92DR. The nylon bushing is not meant to be re-used. I would encourage you to do a height test before tightening it down all the way. 300 ft lbs is a lot of torque. The Crosswing # C92DR is designed to be dedicated to a single trailer. So the idea is that after initial install, height would not need to be adjusted. If you find yourself in need of a new busing, they are available as part of the head bolt kit # C74NR.

It's a bummer but you can't use a pivoting pin box with a fifth wheel hitch that only attaches to a gooseneck ball as the additional twisting torque that these types of pin boxes but on hitches requires four attachment points instead of just the center ball. Instead you'd need a set of standard fifth wheel rails installed in your truck like the Curt part # C93WR so that you can use the Crosswing that attaches to this rail style part # C92DR and the wedge # C85DR .
