Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Curt carbide black custom fit fifth wheel installation kit for the RAM trucks. Now this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2013 RAM 2500 trucks and also the 2013 and newer RAM 3500 trucks without the OEM prep package. Now on a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you this will work for your application. The custom mounting brackets on the side right here, these will mount beneath your truck bed. And as you can see, they'll provide the attachment points for these fifth wheel base rails.
The base rails is what'll sit in your truck bed and allows the installation of your fifth wheel trailer hitch to your truck. Now the custom mounting brackets on the side here, I'm gonna zoom in. If you notice the way they're configured, they are custom fit brackets. They're designed to mount to existing holes in your vehicles frame. You can see to have the holes in the brackets.
This will help minimize any drilling and the installation time is cut in half compared with the universal mounting brackets that are out there. Now this is a complete kit and includes the mounting brackets we mentioned, the base rails, and the mounting hardware. Comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how it all goes together. Now the rails, as we mentioned, these will be visible rails in your truck bed. These have the carbide black finish which is like a matte black finish, and it's to match the carbide black finish of your fifth wheel hitch.
