Question:

Hi! I have a 2018 Ram 3500 long bed dually with the Curt gooseneck puck system. I’d like to get the Anderson ultimate hitch, but I’m not sure which rails to get. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Sam! If your Ram truck has the factory puck system you won't need a set of rails to install an Anderson Hitch. The Andersen Aluminum Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection 2 Gooseneck version item # 3220 will attach directly to the gooseneck ball.

If you're looking at one that attaches to 5th wheel rails you'll have to use the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch item # C29BR. This adapter connects to the factory pucks and provides a platform to attach a 5th wheel hitch.

What kind of 5th wheel trailer do you have?

Hey Sam, how did things go with the Andersen Ultimate hitch on your Ram’s puck system? Did it connect smoothly to the gooseneck ball or did you end up using the adapter rails? Your update could make it easier for the next person setting up a similar truck.

@SamS That is great to hear! B&W makes the best 5th wheel hitches in the towing industry and the Companion item # BWRVK3600 is a solid upgrade to the Anderson.
