Recommended Bike Rack for a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan

Updated 06/23/2025 | Published 12/10/2024

Question:

My wife is thinking about buying a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid sedan. Will the bike racks for a hybrid fit as they do for non-hybrids? Also, her bike weights a little over 40 pounds. Is that an acceptable weight for a non-hitch rack it should be able to hold 70 pounds - 2 bikes @ 35 pounds each

Hey Bradford! The Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack item # TH910XT is going to fit on the hybrid models of the 2025 Honda Civic sedan the same way as the non-hybrid models. This bike rack only has a 35 lbs capacity per bike so it's not going to work for your wife's bike. The combined capacity of 70 lbs can't be distributed like that.

Additionally, there are no trunk mounted bike racks that have a 40+ lbs capacity. I recommend using a hitch mounted one like item # HR200Z, which has a 45 lbs capacity per bike.

To attach this to your Civic you'll want to install the Curt Hitch item # C92UR. This hitch is designed for the non-hybrid models of the 2025 Honda Civic sedan but it will fit the hybrid it just requires some extra trimming below the bumper.

I have linked a couple of installation and review videos below so you can see the features of this bike rack demonstrated and how to get the hitch set up.

@Joshua The only bike racks we have for a 2005 Honda Civic hatchback are either hitch mounted like item # HR200Z or roof rack bike racks like item # Y02103. What kind of bike/s do you have?
