Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the SmartPlug 25 foot long marine power cord, has a 30 amp female connector to a 30 amp twist-style male connector, and you can see the cord is in a nice bright white color. Now, this 30 amp cable will connect your SmartPlug equip boat to shore power. Basically right over here, this is a 30 amp female connector that'll snap onto your SmartPlug inlet. And on the other end is a 30 amp twist-style male plug that connects to an outlet at the marina. Now, the SmartPlug straight in single step operation means there's no more twisting or fiddling with your locking rings.
The plug shape will take the guesswork out of connecting, so it's very simple to use even in the dark. You just push it on there. It does use this multi-point locking system right here, removes the strain from the connection points. These side levers, one on each side, allows it to snap in with an audible feedback. It keeps the plug in place.
To show you what we're talking about, here's the clear cap that they include to put on there when you're not plugged in, but you'll be able to hear it. It'd be just like plugging it in. You can see when you push it and plug it in, those snap into place and now it's locked in there. And then to unplug it, just push in on both sides. It releases it, comes easily out, so it's very easy to push in to install and easy to remove.
The interior clamp will bear the weight of the cord to support wiring in the body. They do have seals in the plug face and around the cord to keep the equipment protected from the elements. Now over here, the dock side male plug, it is a twist-style connector, has a nice ergonomic grip to it that'll help you plug it in and twist it into the outlet on the dock. Now if you're not familiar with the smart plugs, what's really unique about them is they have this blue right up here, this is a blue LED reverse polarity indicator light and this will confirm correct connection. So basically when you plug this in, if there's no light showing, that means there's no power at your connection.
If you plug it in and just the blue is showing, it's normal power, you're ready to go. If you plug it in and a blue and a red light is showing, that means it's reverse polarity. And if you plug it in and there's no blue showing, but only the red is showing, that's dangerous reverse polarity. So it detects what's going on when you plug it in. We mentioned the nice snap on clear cap here that'll protect the terminals when it's not plugged in. So basically just push that on there to protect it. And what's nice being clear, you can see through it and they stamp what type of plugin it is on the end here so you'll be able to see what type of plugin this is. They do use high-quality materials which will hold up to extreme climates or out of the water. It uses marine-grade stainless steel components that'll hold up season after season. And they use nickel-plated brass electrical pins and tinned wires to resist corrosion. As we mentioned, you can see it's a nice white color. It is made in the USA. Did wanna zoom out and talk about the storage bag that's included. It's a nice round, zippered storage bag, clear on one side. So it allows you to coil this back up, drop it right in there, seal it shut with your zipper and you got handles to carry it around and store it. Again, the length on this cord is 25 feet, amperage 30 amps, voltage 125 volts. But that's gonna do it for a look at the SmartPlug 25 foot long marine power cord.
