Is there a Way to Use Aftermarket Monitor With Furrion RV Observation Cameras

Updated 12/12/2024 | Published 12/09/2024

Question:

I just bought a 2021 forest river sandpiper that has a prewired furion FRCBRKT-BL backup camera. And I have a 2016 ford f250 super duty with the camper/towing option which doesn’t have any kind of screen for entertainment/nav, just a dvd player. I am thinking I want to install an aftermarket 6.8” screen that will give me wireless apple car play and install a new backup camera on the truck but the 2 places that I have brought it to don’t know how to pickup the prewired furion backup camera in the 5th wheel. I hate the idea of having a 2nd screen just for the 5th wheel, it seems like it should just be able to be another camera input to my new 6.8inch screen that I am going to get. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Rodney, you aren't the first and likely not the last to want this, but unfortunately there is no way to tie in your Furrion RV camera system to your Ford F-250.

Furrion's camera systems are only compatible with their monitors like # FR97FR, so as much as you'd hate to have two screens, that realistically is your only option.

If there is a way to tie in those cameras to an aftermarket monitor, Furrion, as well as ourselves, are not aware of how that would be done.

What if I am willing to change to a different camera in the back of the 5th wheel (probably wireless)? And thanks for the initial speedy answer!

@RodneyD Hey Rodney sorry for the delay, I ended up catching a stomach bug from my son. Unfortunately there is no RV camera system that is compatible with your OEM monitor. Even the wireless ones, like the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # FOS05TASF is still going to need to be used with their monitor.
