Are Safety Chains Needed with B and W Companion Hitch that Fits Ford OEM 5th Wheel Rails

Question:

Im wanting to buy the BandW Companion fifth wheel hitch for my 2018 F250. Is there a safety chain kit for this hitch? I can find safety chains for the gooseneck hitch but all the puck locations are used by the Companion hitch.

Fifth wheel hitch towing setups actually don't require safety chains by law and in general people do not add them on. It turns out that the only time safety chains are required is if there's a hitch ball used as the attachment point and not a king pin like with fifth wheel setups. This means you don't need safety chains and also we don't have a way even to do so either with the B and W Companion part # BWRVK3300 that you are interested in.
