Replacement Hubs and 4.8x8 Tire/Wheel for Older Boat Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a 40-50 year old small boat trailer that has 1.062 diameter spindles. The current hubs/wheels have double tapered bearings, and a 1.25 diameter seal. 4 x8 wheels that use a 4.8x8 tire. Do you offer new wheels/hubs that match? Thank you.

It sounds like your trailer hubs use L44649 bearings so to replace your idler hubs and tire/wheels I recommend the following:

- Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K (need Qty 2 per axle)
- Double Lip Grease Seals # RG06-010 (comes as a pair)
- Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel # AM30070

The hub uses the L44649 bearings but you need to swap out the grease seals for the ones that I referenced so the inner diameter matches what you have. Then both the hub and the wheel have a galvanized finish to help resist corrosion due to exposure to water better than a standard powder coat finish.
