Correct Replacement for AL-KO 7230 Hub/Drum and Brakes

Question:
My trailer has a 7000# rating so I presume 3500# axles. The drums are stamped with AL-KO 7230 with max diameter of 10.090. The current pads are marked with ABEX 6100 GG PRI 6512 P and ABEX 6100 GG SEC 6517 S, but that is all I can find for markings. Another post indicated these should be replaced with your part BP04-095 or BP04-100. From looks, it appears the correct part is the BP04-100 - but Im wondering if either would work for my brakes because they appear to be the same size. Do both of these contain the springs because they appear to be looking pretty nasty also? Im having all the drums turned, so they will be nice and smooth. Only one axle appears to be bad, can I just replace pads on one wheel and leave the others for later? Finally, can you let me know if you sell wheel studs for these drums? I have a few that are getting pretty hard to remove and Im afraid they will eventually break. Call if any questions...

Expert Reply:
The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-K is the correct replacement for an AL-KO 7230. In regards to the braking assemblies, I suggest getting a new pair, the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA. This option will save you some headache down the road although it may be a bit more expensive upfront. The cost saving would be marginal once you factor in turning the drums and getting all the correct replacement parts. It is not required to replace all braking assemblies at once but you should do an entire axle at least.
Unfortunately, we don't have a great option for cross-referencing old AL-Ko part numbers not to say the correct replacement parts are still obtainable.
