Ive got a 1994 EZ Loader trailer that needs replacement leaf springs. I dont see anything on the axle about load capacity, but I suspect its low. In any event, the leaf springs only has two leaves and its a open c-hook on one end. It measures 26.25 from center of the eye to the center if the open hook and its 1.75 wide. The front and back hangers for the leaf springs appear to be identical, so Im wondering if I can switch to a double eye spring. Thoughts?

I have a replacement option for you, but the only slipper spring we offer that is 1-3/4" wide and is 26-1/4" long is the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Open Eye End for 4,300-lb Trailer Axles - 26-1/4" Long # e33SR. Since you mentioned that you don't think the trailer has a very high axle rating this would not be a good option as if it is over rated it would cause a very harsh ride.
To change over to double eye springs you would need to find the axle rating, and since you mentioned that you couldn't find an axle tag you would want to check the GVWR of the trailer which can tell you roughly the axle capacity. You will also need to replace your current hangers.
For example if your trailer had 2000lb axles you would want the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Front, 1-1/4" Rear # APS4 which will need to be welded to the frame of your trailer, and 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles - 20-3/8" Long # e84SR.
If you can tell me the GVWR of your trailer I would be happy to recommend the specific springs you would need.
