In order to install a functional 7-way trailer connector on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee, you'll first need to install a 4 pin connector to access the lighting circuits. I'd recommend part # 118605.
How you proceed from here will depend on what you are towing. If you are towing a trailer that has a 7-way trailer connector but does not have brakes and does not need a constant 12-V power feed for keeping a trailer battery topped off or for minimal interior lighting, you'd also need the # 37185 adapter which would plug into the 4 pin connector supplied by the # 118605 mentioned above. The adapter has 4 additional wires, the only one you'd need to use is the white ground wire, which should be attached to the frame or part of the chassis that's in contact with the frame. The adapter will provide both a 7-way and a functional 4 pin connector.
If your trailer does have electric brakes, you'll need to take the install a little further. In addition to a brake controller like the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty, part # RED24FR and the wiring pigtail, part # RED69FR. To complete the installation of the controller, you'll also need our # ETBC7 brake controller installation kit. The kit includes the # 37185 adapter mentioned above, as well as all the wire, circuit breakers and hardware needed to successfully complete the installation. You'll ground the white wire on the adapter as described above, but the blue wire on the adapter would extend to the passenger cab to carry the brake controller output, and the black wire would run to the vehicle positive battery to provide a 12-V feed to the trailer when needed.
I've linked to an install video for the # 118605 wiring harness, as well as to some demonstration videos that explain how the brake controller and the install kit I mentioned works.
