Hi There. I bought a Kuat NV 2.0 from an old guy on Craigslist today. After driving almost two hours to meet him, I asked to test the lock and he had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently he had forgotten that there was a lock at all and had no clue where he might have put the key. Anyway, I still bought it from him and found the lock replacement on your website, however, the videos show an easy change if you have a lock key, but I do not. How do I go about changing the locking cylinder without a key?

Kuat used to have specific replacement keys, but now they send you randomly numbered lock cores and matching keys. Before I could recommend that you look for the number on the lock's face of your Kuat NV # NV22B and getting the matching key, but now you need to replace the locks completely.

To replace the lock core, it needs to be in the unlocked position. Without a key, I recommend taking your bike rack to a locksmith to try to get it unlocked. If they can't, then they'll need to drill it very carefully.

I recommend buying the lock cores first so you can show the locksmith what he'll be dealing with beforehand. Also you might get super super lucky and your new locks cores might have the same number as your old one.
