Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this SmartPlug RV Marine White Data Port Inlet. Now this data port inlet, if you notice when we open it up, comes with one blank insert with a plug in it and one open port, so that you can customize your RV or boat's connection options. This is compatible with HDMI, coaxial, ethernet, USB, and even USB-C snap in connectors that we do sell separately. That'll snap right in place in here.
And just to demonstrate that, I pulled one of those connectors, this one happens to be the USB-A connector. If you notice, if I flip this around, all you have to do is take that connector, put it in there. And then just push it into place, and it snaps right in there and holds it. And now you have a USB-A connector. Make your connection back here, and then you'll be able to connect your cable right there.
Now it also comes, if you noticed, if you have a second connection you wanna make, let's say if you wanna put a HDMI in there also, all you have to do is take out this plug. Comes with this black plug. You just pop that plug out, and now it gives you another open port that you can put another connector in there. As we mentioned, those connectors, we do sell separately. Now, if you're not using it, we do always recommend to put the plug back in there.
And that plug will just snap right into place, and now you're all ready to go. This will give you exterior cable jacks, so it allows you to easily connect your RV to campground cable services, or satellite. The material, they are UV resistant, IP56 rated material, so it'll hold up in extreme climates or out of the water. Now if you do use the SmartPlug design on your RV now, then this data port will match your smart plug setup, while giving you the same weatherproof protection that you're familiar with. Has the same mounting flange pattern.
It is a white non-metallic construction. All the plastic parts are UV and heat resistant. If you notice, when we open it up at the top on the lid here, has this foam gasket in the lid and that'll create a weatherproof seal when you close it and it's not being used. And then when you open it up, you just pry up on it, and it opens up and you can access it. Now this does install into standard size cutouts, and the seals using this included adhesive back foam mounting gasket. If you just flip it over, you can see when you go to install this, just like that. And you can install it, there's no messy caulking needed. And then just to show you to remove, if you wanna remove it and replace it with a different connector, they just pop right out and you can put other connector in there if you need to. This part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on this SmartPlug RV Marine White Data Port Inlet.

Excellent product! Easy to install and has it's own seal. Very sturdy! Looked at the plastic version and decided to go this this one for longevity. We mounted it on our camper to run our Starlink cable from the dish to the camper and on the inside to the router. The ethernet adapter just snapped in to the port. We tested it before installing it and it worked perfectly. Now we have a clean set up for our Starlink. Quick and easy set up; no running cables thru the window or slide seals of the camper. Highly recommend.
Perfect. What I needed to connect our S tarlink.
Outstanding product and great external connection for my Starlink. Great product, fast shipping and easy transaction
Direct fit replacement for the OEM cable/sat plug and allowed me to wire Skylink Mini to my Peplink router with an Ethernet cable. Only took me 15 minutes to do the swap. Exactly what I was looking for.
Perfect way to run the starlink cable into the trailer.
Easy install, works as advertised.
I added a SmartPlug to my Aliner Expedition camper to provide off-grid power for my Starlink Mini. It all works great, although the separate Keystone DC 5521 female connector needed for the 50" Starlink Mini cable was only available through another seller.
I installed it on my rv to run my Starlink mini pwr cable and ethernet cable for my mini mesh router. The Cat 6 female to female came with the unit, but I had to make my own modifications for the Starlink pwr connection. It all turned out great!
The port is assumed to be replacing an existing something, and doesn't include screws or instructions that would be helpful when installing it new. Also it relies on a foam gasket that will eventually fail to seal because of shrinkage and would be difficult to seal using a proper sealant.
I no longer have my StarLink cable running through my open RV window, so the cold/heat doesn't put demand on my batteries. This works great!
I originally had a single coax adapter that was intended to be used for a tripod based satellite dish. I replaced it with this port. I have my gen 3 Starlink roof mounted with the Starlink fixed roof mount. Sometimes my spot is under a tree or when at home under a cover so the SL does not work. I can not remove the dish and tripod mount it and plug in at this new coax and Ethernet access port. I chose the chrome option. There is a black plastic one as well. If you need a weather proof Ethernet port for your rig this will fit the bill
Just so you know. I am an Amateur Radio operator, N4SSG. We are purchasing an RV and I have modified this device to handle a SO239 has antenna connection. There is a need for this and there is no product I have found, so I fashioned my own .
High quality products arrived in great condition and are exactly as described on the etrailer site.
The smart plug function just as advertised. Very happy with my purchase. I used the Keystone Single Jack Ethernet Connector for SmartPlug Data Item #SM38MJ with the plug. I mounted the starlink router and power supply inside the trailer. Now all I have to do is plug the starlink dish into the smart and starling works well. I also had to buy a short 6 foot CAT6 cable to plug into the back of the smart plug and the router. I also bought a 150' Starlink cable for when I need a longer run to get away from obstructions like trees. I also bought a CAT6 coupler that I can use with the original 50' Starlink cable and the new 150' cable allowing me to place the dish up to 200' away from the trailer. I tested the 200' run and it works fine.
Exactly what I wanted. I had an existing cable TV connection port which was not in use. The Smartplug fit nicely in the existing hole so all I needed to do was drill 4 pilot holes for the screws and screw it to my RV. Bought power and ethernet keystone connectors and up in running quickly.
Like the smart plug and its well built construction. Wished the cat 6 ethernet plug fit tighter and snapped in like the blank does.
This will work very well for our starling cable to transition outside!
Built great and solved my challenge of keeping the coax and adding a Ethernet connection.
Works great with Starlink and Wal-Mart (CAT6, RJ45) cables, but remember to buy the adapter! A 2-inch hole saw it perfect to install. For the interior I drilled a 3/4-inch hole in a blank plug cover and installed a rubber grommet in the cover. I still put a light bead of exterior caulking to ensure a waterproof seal. I would buy it again.
Easy to install works great for my Starlink Ethernet plug pass thru on my Travel Trailer! Weather proof too!
Excellent product! I slighly modified this data port inlet to provide an external port for my Starlink. When not traveling, the cover protects the port from rain and debris. When stationary, the cover provides protection from the elements (rain, snow, sun, etc.) even when the Starlink data cable is connected. I couldn't be happier with this product!
This port has been a phenomenal upgrade! Rather than running the cable through a window, door or as I did under the slide out…upgrading to this port has saved so many headaches and time. I removed a coax cable outlet that we would never use as we stream everything, made the hole a little bigger with the template and installed this. Highly recommended!!
