Replacement Hubs for Axle Spindle with 1.06 Inch Diameter

Updated 06/01/2020 | Published 05/28/2020

Question:

I have an idle axle that measures 1 1/16 or 1.06 with a caliper. Can this take a 1 inch hub from your site? Or do I need a hub that is 1 1/16. Thanks

The best way to match hubs to an axle/spindle is going to be by finding a hub with the same size bearings as the ones that you removed; you can usually find numbers stamped on the backs of the bearings that designate their size. The Trailer Idler Hub # AKIHUB-440-2-1K you were looking at uses an # L44643 inner and outer bearing, which has a 1.00" I.D., so it's going to be just a tad too small, but we do have a solution for you.

Instead, I recommend that you use something like the etrailer Idler Hub # AKIHUB-440-2-2K which uses # L44649 bearings that have a 1.063" inner diameter, and are going to be a much better fit. These do have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern like the hubs you were looking at, but if you have a 5 on 4-1/2' wheel bolt pattern you'll want to use something like the # AKIHUB-545-2-2K

All of these hubs are pre-greased and come with bearings, races, seals and lug nuts included, so they'll have everything you need to swap out your hubs.

I've also linked our entire selection of hubs that might be a potential fit for your axle in case you're looking for something a little different.
