Recommended 5.30R12 Trailer Tire for Highway Use
Question:
I have a jet-ski trailer, the rim says max. speed is 55 mph. I am planning to go from south Florida to deep in the mountains of North Carolina and cant fathom doing the entire starch at 55mph. My tires are 5.30-12 82M tubeless with a load range C and a capacity of 1045 lbs @ 80psi. Will they be sufficient to perform at better than 55 mph?

That's a good question, and the answer is that your current 5.30-12 tires are not safe for traveling at highway speeds. What you likely have on your trailer now is a bias ply tire, which is not good for highway use because they are stiffer and tend to heat up quickly. So if you keep your current tires and even if you stay within 55 mph, on that long of a trip you will likely get blowouts. The best option, by far, is to get radial tires which are rated for use at highway speeds (radial tires run cooler because they flex more and aren't as stiff as bias tires).
The 5.30R12 trailer tire I highly recommend is the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TT53012C.
This has a maximum speed rating of 81 mph, which will save you many hours on your long trip, and has a 1,050 lb capacity per tire, which is nearly identical to your current tires load capacity.
I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire # TT53012C.
