10 Inch Electric Trailer Brakes with Parking Brake Feature
Question:
I am planning to add brakes to an off road trailer and want to have the option to have a parking brake for when the trailer is unhooked off road, will these work? Or will the AKEBRK-35-SA version work?

Helpful Expert Reply:
There are only a handful of brake assemblies that have the provisions to add a parking brake and # AKEBRK-35 or # AKEBRK-35-SA do not have that feature.
Dexter electric brake assembly kit # K23-086-087-00 does have the ability to add a parking brake feature. I have linked a video review of this set for you. The parking brake levers are at the backs of the assemblies. You can attach cables to those and run the cables to a lever to engage/disengage the brakes manually.
I have also included a link to our help article on the parts needed to add electric brakes to a trailer.
