Rear End Still Sagging on 2016 Ford F-150 Even when Using Weight Distribution
Question:
I have a 2016 F150 and we have a new trailer 2017 outback 322BH and new Husky hitch 1200lb. I have already added an extra spacer to the hitch to get the ball to lean back a bit as my trucks back end was sagging quite a bit. It seemed to help, but after a quick trip to the lake, it seems to be sagging quite a bit again so Im assuming the torsion bars are breaking in? Should I continue to add spacers to even out the weight?? It seems like I have to jack the back end of the truck WAY up to get the torsion bars up to the trailer holders. Is this normal when hauling a HEAVY trailer? FYI the trailer is quite level.... just the truck sags in the back end.

What you are experiencing is common when using weight distribution with a 1/2 ton truck. You can try making adjustments to the weight distribution and that could very well fix the problem. But if it doesn't I recommend adding rear helper springs to reduce or eliminate the squat.
Take a look at Timbren springs # TFR1504E. The use of these springs will help to reduce sag when towing the trailer. After installation there is no maintenance and they have a Limited lifetime warranty.
Or if you want more adjustability you can use Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle Item # AL59570. These will allow you to adjust the ride height as needed. If you do go with air bags you should first couple the trailer to the truck, then level it using the air bags, and then engage the spring bars on the weight distribution system.
