Question:
I have a 2016 F150. I want to install the airlift 5000 airbags for additional load/leveling support. Will these airbags also work well with a trailer weight distribution bar hitch when towing my camper?

Helpful Expert Reply:
A set of airbags will not interfere with a weight distribution system. However, the airbags will not be needed to level the vehicle if your weight distribution system is properly rated and installed. They will help to increase stability and improved ride quality on your 2016 Ford F-150 but should not be necessary for leveling purposes when towing with a weight distribution system.
If you ever decide to tow a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer you will need to make sure the airbags will work with either the 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch prior to installation as the hitch's mounting brackets often interfere with the airbags mounting brackets but for a pull behind style trailer this will not be an issue for you.
For an Air Lift kit designed to fit your F-150, I recommend using the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57268 for 2x4 or part # AL57385 for 4x4 models. In order to operate the airbags from inside the vehicle you can't go wrong with a compressor system like the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System for Air Helper Springs part # AL25592.
When you use a weight distribution system on a vehicle with airbags you want to first inflate the airbags to the needed psi and then set the weight distribution system up.
