Troubleshooting Bearing Kit That Doesn't Want to Fit on Spindle
Question:
Received this bearing kit. Bearing Kit for #84 Spindle, L44649/L68149 Bearings, 10-19 Double Lip Seal Installed kit, had to press on the spindle using large spindle nut. Never had to do before. I think ID of one or both bearings too small. Now hub and spindle MUST be in perfect alignment or bearings will be misaligned, which will lead to premature bearing failure. help.

Bearings are known to fit tight and sometimes require a bit of wiggling to get to install but you really should have to have them pressed on. Does the spindle need to be cleaned off? Was one of the bearings able to slide on easily but the other not all the way?
You might measure both the inner diameter of the bearing and the outer diameter of the spindle to make sure they are the correct sizes.
An 84 spindle should be 1.38 and 1.06 inch where the bearings ride.
