Can Hitch for 2003 Subaru Forester be Used as Recovery Point Since Tow Hook Gets Disconnected
Question:
The installation instructions include removing a factory tie down point and a tow connection. Is it safe to use a portion of the hitch e.g., one arm as a tie-down point? What about a tow connection?

If you needed to use the Draw Tite hitch part # 36311 as a recovery point on your 2003 Subaru Forester since the tow hook has to come off you certainly could.
