To flat tow your 2016 Chevrolet Sonic you're going to need several items. For starters, I recommend the Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar # RM-576 which connects to your RV by your trailer hitch receiver. It's non-binding, making it easier to connect to your Sonic and the Alpha comes with safety cables.
Next you'll need the Roadmaster base plate kit # RM-523173-5 which is compatible with your Sonic. It's fairly easy to install, with no welding and is barely noticeable when the arms are removed.
For your tail light wiring you can go with a magnetic setup # PE26UR or for a more permanent solution there's the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit # RM-155 which installs in the tail lights.
To prevent your Sonic's battery from draining while towing you will need to remove the DLIS fuse when towing. To make this process easier you can use the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass # RM76511.
Most states require a braking system and they're definitely recommended to reduce the strain of stopping on your RV. The SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 requires zero action on your part after the initial installation. It automatically activates when you hitch up your Sonic.
The height of the base plate is 13-1/2 inches from the ground once installed. You may need a High-Low Adapter depending on the height of your receiver on the RV. I've included a help article for you on how to determine if you need one.
I have also attached an overview help article on flat towing that may be helpful to you.
