Replacement 4.80-8 Tires for a 1984 Coleman Pop Up Camper Trailer

Question:

I have a 1984 Coleman Pop Up camper I need to put new tires on. The manual says the size is a 4.80 x 8. What is a good tire to replace the old ones with and what would be the speed rating on this size of tire while we are towing it? Thanks for your help.

Since the manual for your 1984 Coleman pup says to use 4.80-8 tires then you should stick with that size. We have 2 tires in that size. First is # AM10002 which is a load range B rated for 590 pounds at 60 psi. The second is # AM10004 which is a load range C rated for 745 pounds at 90 psi.

It looks like the heaviest pup Coleman made in 1984 was the Williamsburg at 1,490 pounds so going with the load range C, # AM10004, should cover all models for that year.

These tires are rated for 65 miles per hour.
