Trailer Wiring Harness For A 2000 Chevrolet Express Van

Question:

Aloha, I bought a 2000 Chevrolet Express 1500 conversion van that I needed to t ow a vehicle a Ross country on a car hauler. It had the receiver, but no trailer wiring kit, so I had one installed in Oregon which they had spliced in. After I arrived in Tennessee and returned the carhauler to U-haul, I noticed that my taillights seemed to be freaking out. After I pulled the splices off my van wiring, everything went back to normal! I plan to put a new plug-in wiring kit Hopkins# 41335 Hopkins# HM41335 or T-1# 118377, but am having a hard time deciding on which one is best! Can you give me a fair comparison and recommendation? Do you offer any military discounts? FYI: In addition, I will probably be needing to convert it to a 7 and 4 connector sometime in the future! Thank you,

When it comes to installing a trailer wiring harness on your 2000 Chevrolet Express Van The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118377 is the best out of all the plug and play harnesses for your vehicle. The T-One harness are made out of a heavier gauge wire (16 gauge) and will last longer in the elements then the other options that we offer.

The harness will plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your cargo area. It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease # 11755 on all electrical connections, the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself to help prevent corrosion.

If you want to convert your 4-flat connector mentioned above into a 7-way connector you will need the universal wiring # ETBC7. This wire will attach into the 4 flat and give you four additional wires that have to be spliced into your wiring of the vehicle so you can run brakes on your trailer. The following functions are below:

White - Ground
Black - 12V Battery
Blue - Brake controller
Yellow - Reverse Lights

I attached an installation video link below.
