Recommended 4 and 7-Way Trailer Connector for a 2014 Chevy Express Van
Question:
Hey. I have a 2014 Chevy Express 2500 without factory trailer wiring. I have a hitch on there, but i want to add wiring, including brake wiring. The vehicle has a massive toeing capacity 9000# or so, so the braking stuff is important. What do I need to do to install a 4 and 7 pin system with a brake controller?

In order to add trailer wiring to a 2014 Chevrolet Express Van you'll start with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118392 which provides a 4-way and is plug and play. You can then adapt this to a 7-way for towing a trailer with brakes, the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7 is the perfect choice for this as it includes both the 7 and 4-Way connection as well as containing everything else you need to hook up a brake controller (wires, circuit breakers, etc) like the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160 which is what I recommend.
