ARC 21041 Concept H4 LED Bulb Dimensions

Raw Lumens vs Effective Lumens vs Stable Lumens

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. Stable lumens builds off the idea of effective lumens by measuring the amount of light produced after 30 minutes of usage, or once the diodes have reached their average operating temperature. These bulbs have a 3,000 raw lumen capacity per bulb and produce 1,995 effective lumens per bulb. The stable lumen capacity per bulb is 1,550 lumens.

Video Transcript for Review of ARC Vehicle Lights - Replacement Bulbs with Anti-Flicker Harness - ARC34VR

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the H4 style LED bulb, with harness kit. This is going to be a great replacement for your existing bulbs in your vehicle, so you can get a brighter light, and be able to see what's going on around you, and stay safe, stay aware of what's on the road. It's also going to come with the anti-flicker harness, so if you have a vehicle that has a CAN bus, or a PWM style electrical system, a lot of times they can cause some flickering in the bulbs, there's a very low amount of power that's usually sent to your bulbs, so this is going to alleviate that problem. It's just basically a relay to help get the power where it needs to go, and eliminate that issue. The easiest way to figure out if this is going to be a fit for your particular vehicle is to use our fit guide here at etrailer.com, if you haven't already done so. You're going to put in your year, make, and model of your vehicle, find the vehicle lights section, and then go from there. This should be a great option for a lot of different vehicles.

Let's take a closer look at it, you can see our housing here. It is a countersunk heat sink design, so it's going to eliminate any kind of issues with overheating, it's going to stay nice and cool, so it has a internal thermal management system, and it's going to help eliminate any kind of premature failures as well.It does have precision optics, so that makes the light go farther, so you can see farther on the road, and also eliminates glare. I'm going to hook this up to just kind of a makeshift power supply, so you can get an idea of what this will look like. Of course, whenever you put this into your vehicle, you will not have to be using these little alligator clamps, this is just my setup, since I don't have a car to plug this into.Whenever you plug this into your vehicle, it should just be a plug and play, there's no cutting or splicing required, so it makes it really easy to get this installed. Flip on my light, you can see that's very bright.

Turn the lights out in the studio, and get a better idea of how bright that is. That light is nice and bright, it's kind of directed by the housing there. Then whenever we flip over to the high beams, it's going to change the way it throws that light. It kind of flips it up as we would expect for our high beams. It's all integrated into the light, looks really nice. I'm going to turn this off and disconnect.

Your kit also comes with a couple things. You're going to get the manual for the bulbs themselves, it has some easy to read diagrams and actual words to help you get that installed, it's a pretty simple process. The hardest part will really just be getting access to the back of your housing in your vehicle. We're also going to get some double sided foam tape for our harnesses, so you're just going to stick this on the bottom, find a nice spot for those to live in your engine bay, or somewhere near enough by that you can get that mounted up.Really, it's just kind of an extension for our light. These just plug right in to the harness, you can see the ends match there, so it's just kind of an in-line harness.

You plug that in there, and then this goes into where your light normally would have plugged in. Also, comes with a fun sticker, so that's always a nice bonus to me, I'm a sucker for stickers. As far as the specs with this, it is compatible with 12 Volt DC systems, you do get the two bulbs of course, one for either side, and the two harnesses also for each bulb. The light output for these, the raw Lumens is 3,000, the effective Lumens is 1,995, and then our stable Lumens once it's gotten down to about 30 minutes of usage, goes down to about 1,500 Lumens. So, the reason for those different numbers, the raw Lumens is really just in a perfect world, with no interference from anything else, nothing taking away from this, like a light housing or anything like that. It has the potential of 3,000 Lumens, but more real world specs, it has a 1,995 Lumen spec. After about 30 minutes of usage, the light gets a little bit dimmer, so that's where it gets that 1,500 mark, or 1,550 Lumens. The color temperature for these is 6,500 Kelvins, so that gives us that cool white color, helps us to see better, and be more alert in the dark. The Wattage for each bulb is 16.5 Watts, the power draw for each bulb at 13 Volts is 1.3 Amps, our operating voltage is between 7.5 Volts, and 16 Volts of DC. It is covered by a two year warranty, and it is rated at IP 6/7ths, that means it's insulated from any kind of dust or water, it should be pretty weather proof as well, so you don't have any issues with water getting in there. The IP 6/7 means that it's impervious to dust, and up to withstanding powerful jets of water. No worries about anything getting in there and causing any issues. That's pretty much all there is for me to talk about with these lights, I hope this video has been helpful. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, thanks for watching.

These worked fine in my 2022 Colorado. No brighter than the factory lights but the "right" color. Didn't need the anti-flicker harness though.

I've had the opportunity to use these LED's for about a month now and I can say they have worked great. They are exceptionally brighter than the OEM halogen bulbs with a slight blueish tint. I have tried other cheap LED's that flickered or pulsed and threw the light out everywhere, blinding oncoming traffic. These LED's have a very define cut-off line and concentrate the light appropriately. These are plug-and-play so it easy to install these in my quad headlights. I have a stock height truck so I didn't need to re-aim my headlights once I was done. I would suggest these as an upgrade from stock lights. Thanks etrailer!

They worked well, as anticipated and hoped for.
