A quality bit of kit. My only problem is the burly box steel bumper on my 1990 LJ78 Land Cruiser is 2" X 4 1/8", apparently, not 2" X 4". So the nice bolts and nuts included in the package don't quite go through the holes at the top. I had to substitute thinner eye bolts. I'm pulling a very light canoe trailer with this, so I'm not worried about the loss in strength. If you have a real cross frame member for a bumper, as I do this is an inexpensive light towing solution. I would have rated it excellent if the bolt holes were somehow adjustable up and down. 196623

Just received this product, so haven't really used it yet. But wow, it is really built well. I looked at numerous similar products, and am really happy with my choice. Should give us years of great service. May be overkill for a bike rack on the back of our Takena Trailer, but will most assuredly give us peace of mind on our long road trips. 317932

etrailer makes ordering parts very easy - always impressed with customer service I get. The bumper hitch is sturdy, and fit my 2" x 4" trailer bumper perfectly. it is a well built product and is very stable on the bumper. 92115

Wrong product - and no help from etrailer.com in rectifying the situation! I don't think anyone could use this product, and it's not clear enough in the information that it's for a tiny bumper - not a regular RV bumper. 133861

Very nice specialty receiver for 2" Reese Hitch. Fits on 4" x 2" bumper stock - dimensions are spot on. Finish on surface and edges is smooth...nothing to catch or "bite" during installation! Thank you 196812

Ask the Experts about this Curt RV Hitch
Do you have a question about this RV Hitch?

  • Trailer Hitch Options for a Casita Travel Trailer
  • I did some research on the Casita travel trailers and after speaking with Casita, I found that the bumper on the Casita travel trailers were not designed to support any additional weight due to its construction. They also said they do not recommend mounting a hitch or any other type of accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier on the bumper. One option that may work for you is a frame mount trailer hitch such as the Curt Adjustable Width Hitch, # 13703. This is a universal RV style...

  • Hitch Recommendations for a Scamp Trailer Bumper
  • Depending on the dimensions of your trailer's bumper I believe we could have a solution for you that would not require welding. If you have a 4 inch by 4 inch bumper you could use the part # E-100. If you have 2x4 inch bumper you could use the # C19101. These have 2 inch openings though. For a hitch opening that measures 1-1/4 inch that would require welding on you would want the part # E-911. You will need to make sure that the bike racks you plan on using are rated for use on...

  • Types of RV Hitches for Toy Hauler to Allow Towing Boat Trailer
  • We offer both frame-mount and bumper-mount hitches for trailers and all such items can be seen on the linked page. Frame-mount hitches like # C13701 will generally offer higher capacity than the bumper-mount variety like # C19101. Towing a trailer with another trailer is not recommended by many trailer makers and it may also be illegal in some states/provinces. Before installing any hitch on your toy hauler you will want to contact the manufacturer with your trailer's VIN. This will...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch For Jayco Hayfeather X17Z Trailer
  • A spacer may be used to take up the gap you would need, but with your bumper at 4-3/4 inches tall, it would prevent part # C19101 from being installed on it because the distance from the tube to the mounting holes measures 4-1/16 inches. I do not recommend drilling into the bumper to accommodate the mounting holes for part # C19101. I recommend the Curt Adjustable Hitch, part # 13703 as long as the width of your trailer frame is between 22 and 72 inches. I have attached a link to...

  • Availability of Bumper-Mount Hitch for 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup
  • We do offer one bumper-mount 2-inch hitch receiver intended for use on a pickup truck, Curt Specialty Hitch # E-3S. This hitch is intended for installation on trucks with a step bumper. The hitch you referenced, part # C19101, is meant for use on a 2-inch RV bumper and so would not be suitable. If your Ram has a step bumper Curt hitch # E-3S will offer you the capacity you need: 500-lbs tongue weight and 5000-lb towing capacity. If you do not have a step bumper you can review the linked...

  • Frame Mount Trailer Hitch Option for 2016 Keystone Passport 199ML to Carry Bike Rack
  • I recommend going with an RV trailer hitch that will mount to the trailer frame, like the Hidden Hitch Multi-fit Moto Home Trailer Hitch # 88201. The 2 inch hitch receiver will work well to carry RV approved accessories. This hitch will fit trailers with frames from 47 inches - 71 inches wide. It is a good idea to measure your trailer's frame to ensure this hitch will fit. Another option is the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13703. This hitch is designed to fit trailers...

  • Whats the Difference Between Curt Hitch E-100 and C19101
  • The difference between the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # C19101 and the Curt RV Bumper Hitch # E-100 is the application. If you have a 4 inch square bumper you would want the # E-100, if you have a 2 inch x 4 inch rectangular bumper you would want the # C19101. If you check out the pictures I attached you can see how the mounting plates are different distances apart.

  • We have tandem bike racks like the RockyMounts Tandem TailPipe # RKY1031 but this rack is not rated for use behind an RV or motorhome so I could not recommend it for you. However, if you have non-tandem bikes you need to carry I do have a solution for you. To give you the best flexibility for bike rack you will want to install a hitch on your 2 x 4 bumper. They cannot be used on spot-welded or aluminum bumpers. Part # C19101 from Curt is one example. • Can the Curt Bumper Mount Trailer Hitch # C19101 be used Upside Down
  • You can certainly use the Curt Bumper Mount Trailer Hitch, # C19101, upside down. I spoke with my contact at Curt to see if there were any restrictions or further limitations by using this hitch upside down and he told me that you will have no problem using it that way. The capacities of the hitch will stay the same and you can gain more ground clearance for your cargo carrier (which can be a big deal at the back of RVs and trailers).

  • You can take a quick measurement of the bumper on your Keystone toy hauler. You said you have a 2-inch and it is not a 4-inch bumper. You may find it is 2-inches wide and 4-inches tall. If that is the case then the trailer hitch I recommend is the Curt RV Bumper Hitch, part # C19101. This hitch has a 350-lb tongue weight capacity and has a 2-inch receiver opening. When they tested it on a tube bumper, it was found to have a 3500 towing 350 lb tongue weight capacity. Since it hasn't been tested for the use you are proposing, the weight capacity would be completely unknown, which is why Curt doesn't recommend it. This is not strong enough to allow using a bolt-on hitch like Curt # C19101 so your best option for carrying bikes on the trailer is to use the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275.
