  • How to Use Curt Stabilization Strap # 18050
  • On certain Curt trailer hitches, Curt requires a stabilization strap for their warranty on non-trailer loads. The strap in question is # 18050. One end attached to the bike rack or cargo carrier, the other end has a hook meant to attach to the gap between the trunk or hatch and the body of the vehicle. Basically any place that it can attach will work as long as it relieves some of the stress on the hitch. I have included a link to a video that shows how to use the strap with a bike rack.

  • Trailer Wiring Installation on a 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata
  • It technically doesn't matter which side you start on though usually you start installation on the side with the shorter wires because that is the side the converter will mount on. In this case that would be the right (passenger's) side of the vehicle. You are correct, step 3 in the instructions for wiring harness # 56082, linked for reference, should say to route the connectors with the yellow wires to the drivers side and repeat the process.
